Everything you said about email archiving is true. Most people, unless they’ve been living under a rock, know that email is redundantly stored precisely because of hardware failures etc. The issue is the brazen nature of the lie.

If the Republicans in the House already know that Eric Holder will not prosecute any one of these scumbags....then what exactly is their goal? I mean c’mon, are they looking for CSPAN soundbites only? Thats not going to stop or change anything. In fact, it gets people more infuriated when they see them do nothing, stop nothing, waste of time, nobody convicted, nobody indicted, nobody losing pensions, nobody losing their parking spot, etc. These guys are like the H.G. Wells Morlocks who do and take whatever they want, whenever they want. And nobody is there to stop them. The only thing missing is the siren to at least give us the heads up!

I think that regardless of which system of govt you have with or without a constitution, it can be overwhelmed when the people in charge are corrupt to the core.

Unfortunately, our aged Republican leadership comes from an era where the rules were different. They still believe that if they play by Marquess of Queensberry rules, they will be seen as taking the high ground, as being morally superior, as being more trustworthy to the people.

Unfortunately, they suffer from several errors of thinking:

1. There are no rules anymore. Their own fealty to the rule of law is being used against them by unscrupulous and bad-faith opponents.

2. They are chasing an image of a country that no longer exists. Their opposites across the aisle who thought and played as they do have died off or been retired.

3. A new breed of "American" has infiltrated the government, who don't respect the past traditions because they were groomed in a value system that originated elsewhere. Valerie Jarrett was born in Iran. George Soros was born in Hungary. Barack Obama's alleged father was born in Kenya.
