I just want enough Democrats to love our country more than their party

If only.

The Framers plan divided power between the states and the government they created. The 17th Amendment consolidated power among three branches in DC. In recent times, a government of three branches became two, in the form of the democrat and republican parties.

Now, the rats run government without regard to the constitution, and the pubbies are fast joining them.

We are very near one party, Uniparty government, like any fascist or communist country.

They get away with it in part because the constitution is flawed.

If you mean the constitution post-1913, you couldn't be more correct.

Until it is in the aggregate interest of congress to stand up to tyranny, tyranny will prosper.

The 17th Amendment represents a fundamental contradiction in our republic. We have a federal constitution without a federal government. The government acts on the states, yet the states are not represented in congress. It contradicts the maxim of republics, consent of the governed.

The 17th killed the institutional pride of the senate. Rather than look out for the interests of the states, the senate exists to serve the ambition and avarice of its members. If that means rubber-stamping whatever El-President wants, that's okay. For these men and women, there is no electoral or personal downside to the destruction of our nation.

The 17th facilitated our slide into a nation of men, rather than laws. If restoration of freedom is the goal, there is no substitute for repeal of the 17th.

It’s time for an independent prosecutor.

I mean special prosecutor... doh!. Read your comment about Holder and the Senate and thought to myself “they need someone independent”.

I agree 100% without the 17th Harry Reid would be back in Vegas screwing up that town.

However the 17th does nothing about the AG being part of the executive branch.

A senate of the states wouldn't have consented to the appointment of anti-10th amendment radicals like Holder.

We wouldn't have half a Supreme Court with judges hostile to the 10th either.

When Obama seated off-the-scale Lefties to the NLRB and CFPB without the consent of the senate, a senate of the states would have pleaded for articles of impeachment from the House.

You are right. The 17th was very bad for our country. . . .

It really isn’t a cover up. It is just the same old, same old. Obama and Holder determined quite a while ago that they can do anything they want. There is no voter accountability - 2012 elections proved that. There is no opposition accountability from conniving GOPe leadership. And, there is no legal accountability from a justice system so corrupted by irrational liberal ideology it isn’t even funny. The media? Well, there’s no need to discuss what we all know about it.

It is just plain old arrogant defiance that stems from the confidence that nothing of substance will done about the actions they take.

Because the GOP would rather use it as a campaign tool than to
actually do something about it.

Actually, I don’t believe the Constitution is flawed, per se. It was written and adopted by men with integrity, from both sides of the ideological spectrum. It was intended to be a system of governance for honest men. We no longer have that.

Correct.

I watch the MSM newscasts, and have seen nothing about it.

Ukraine - check.
Fires in California - check.

IRS - scrub it, dammit!

This illustrates perhaps more than ever how the Federal government is DEPENDENT on the MSM. To tell it’s lies, if need be, or to just not mention something.

She has a cold face with dead eyes
This is a handmaiden of the “true believers” of the far left
She saw Americans with opposing political views as evildoers to be punished with her puny bureaucratic power
She is legion
People like this, throughout history, have enabled real and far greater evil to flourish in its agenda
Nothing will ever make her remorseful
imo, her victims will never receive justice and in fact, inaction by the “GOP” and bitter self serving partisanship by the democrat party will only spawn ever more abuses
We may be looking at the human face of a turning point in American history, regarding the social contract between American citizens and their government

“Thank you pirate Roberts, for your treachery toward Americans”

He needs to protect those two blonde haired, blue eyes South American adopted kids at all costs = to the determent of 330 million Americans.

How are Obama and the IRS getting away with a blatant coverup?

Because the GOP won't do it's job.

Congress has the inherent power to arrest and imprison for Contempt of Congress. They don't need to crawl to Holder or the Federal courts.

The House of Reps could have the House Sergeant at Arms arrest Lerner and the IRS thugs that have 'lost' the emails RIGHT NOW and hold them indefinitely until they testify completely and truthfully to the oversight committee. If they lie they can be imprisoned. There used to be a jail right in the Capital Building for that purpose.

Congress has the obligation, responsibility and the POWER to hold the government agents and employees accountable. But don't hold your breath waiting for that to ever happen. The GOP Establishment and the Obama Regime both play for the same team.

Every person running against a Washington Insider should be pointing out that they aren’t asking questions about the servers and back ups.

Why not?

Laws mean NOTHING without the deterrence offered by the ability to enforce them. This administration will continue to do WHAT it wants, WHEN it wants and HOW it wants simply because there is nobody that can stop them.

These emails represent wire-fraud, conspiracy and rights violations. These emails may have “traversed” across state lines but certainly from federal government properties. Therefore the FBI must be involved.
