imdb.com has this intriguing item in the trivia section on their page for “Home in Indiana”:

The St. Petersburg Florida Evening Independent of August 10, 1944, reviewed the movie and had this to say about June Haver: "This June Haver is young and pretty with a nearly perfect figure which was displayed with a lavishness that makes one wonder how the Hays Office ever let it get by the censors. June wore fewer clothes, in two sequences, than I have seen anybody wear in a picture since the Hays Office took over. As she is decidedly worth looking at in that very scanty attire, the wonder is that the footage was not eliminated."

Bosley Crowther only says, “Jeanne Crain and June Haver are both attractive as friendly rivals for Mr. McCallister’s smiles – the latter in a way which recommends her for the low whistles and howls of the wolves.”

Has Ward Bond in it, too. It’s as if he would take any role that paid more than the cost of gas to drive to the set!

June Haver. She was married to Fred MacMurray for over 30 years. She died in 2005.

Jeanne Crain and June Haver! Two of my all-time favorites! Worth seeing the movie just to see them again.

Check out Jeanne in State Fair. It showcases her magnificent freshness, wholesomeness, and elegance. The beautiful scenes with Dana Andrews--also an all-time great--are also fresh, wholesome, and elegant.

As for June-- I saw a clip from an old movie, and I wondered who that beautiful, charismatic woman was. On closer inspection, it was June Haver. I had fallen in love with her yet again!

I had fallen in love with her yet again!

That happens to me with Sean Bean.

Lon McAllister was one of early Hollywood’s closeted homosexuals.

According to what I’ve read, he was a good man, too, and June Haver was a nice woman. It makes me happy when things work out like that.

At one time Fred MacMurray was known as the richest man in Hollywood because he invested most of his money and invested it shrewdly, in L.A. real estate IIRC.

Speaking of Fred MacMurray, “Double Indemnity” is due to be released in September. I’m looking forward to that one.

In the double features for young people they team up “Lost Angel” and “Rationing”.

“Rationing” - I thought maybe this was an instructional film about sacrificing for the war effort or something. Actually it is a comedy.
