MIAMI Republican Sen. Ted Cruz says the Obama administration is to blame for the waves of immigrant children crossing the border illegally.
The potential presidential candidate told reporters at a Republican fundraiser in Miami on Friday that Obama's 2012 decision to defer the deportations of some young immigrants who were brought to the country illegally creates a perception of an incentive to cross the border.
The Texas Republican calls Obama's executive order a "lawless act" that grants "amnesty."

Cruz says, abide by the constitution. Enforce the law. Secure the borders!
I believe that Soetoro, Valerie Jarrett and Rupert Murdoch are all in on this. All three should be arrested and tried in the world court for causing this “humanitarian tragedy”.
0bama would love to turn the USA into a third world country. Much easier to control the masses that way.
Go Ted go! Restore America!
How about the fact that Obama hosted an event last week honoring illegal aliens?
I have no doubt that the White House has been directly involved in encouraging the current invasion of “minors” to an extent that should lead to impeachment and treason convictions.
These people have gotten a lot of practice in covering their tracks, but how can they explain away the “Request For Information” posted on FedBizOpps.gov looking for vendors to help escort unaccompanied alien children in January?
That’s very true. What I don’t understand is why nobody sees the cynicism and ruthlessness behind Obama’s order.
BTW, I’m in favor of changes to our immigration system...mostly to undo Obama’s executive orders in his very first week as president, which took away legal entry for people from Latin American countries and gave it to people from “Muslim nations,” especially those in Africa (think Somalia).
Obama hates Latin Americans and is just using them very cynically to disconcert his opponents on his immigration non-policies. People here jeered at the wife of the president of Honduras who said she would pay for the repatriation of Honduran children, but she was clearly one of the few who realized what Obama was actually doing with this cruel trick.
Never has the obvious been so carefully avoided by so many.
There is a reason the whole of the world is flooding us with their children. They want those children to be given U.S. citizenship and Obama has all but promised that.
Do you want to stop the surge of children being sent from Central America? Start posting in their online news comments that the kids will be offered for adoption by homosexual and lesbian couples.
That should cause a furor.
“Never has the obvious been so carefully avoided by so many.”
“...or commented/acted on, by so few...”
Very Churchill-ish of your original version...I applaud your statement, whether it was intended, or not, to be similar to a very historical portion of a good man’s speech...
I’m waiting for Rand Paul’s followup where he defends Obama, and blames it on Bush.
Sadly I suspect that is something Obama would do.
I would not give ‘credit’ to 0bummer as much as Jarrett and Soros. That said he is evil but does have others to think for him . Was Jarrett born in Iran? Does someone have a succinct but thorough write-up on her?
Barack Obama is the reason for much lawlessness these days. He purposefully encouraged illegals to swarm the border. There is no other reality.
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
"Cruz says, abide by the constitution. Enforce the law. Secure the borders! Amen."
Amen! It doesn't get much simpler.
We need a President who understands, and is willing to abide by these basics.
The flood of illegals is far worse than being reported, and growing...Obama & Company is definitely to blame. The intent is obvious, to force amnesty down our throats just as they forced Obama don’t care on us.
Senator Cruz, read Free Republic every day and stay ahead of the newscasts. Your information is at least two weeks old!
He is such a corrupt POS, he’s not worth a plugged nickel.
I tolerate most people, but this wannabe human is beneath my dignity.
He needs to be stoned in the square...or do they reserve that for the women?
Id vote for Ted for POTUS in a heartbeat.
May we be so blessed as to be allowed to do so.
Oh yeah Cruz is totally on message.
I watched a 20 min speech on CSPAN last nite, he was right on track!
With McDaniels in the senate with him and Lee we will have a great trifecta!
I say CRUZ is right!!
Why can’t Perry call out the Texas National Guard? Would this then put them in conflict with the Feds - BLM and Border patrol? Perry and Texas - my state need to do something other than ask Washington for help. Bring it to a head - If Perry did this he would agrner that support he needs to run for Pesident. Not that I think he is anything other than a rino but I’d like to seem him prove me wrong.
We need to get that man in office. (A higher one that he currently has, that is)
It is rare to find a politician these days willing to speak the truth. The unvarnished truth.
Man, you gotta be some kind of wild eyed radical these days to suggest actually abiding by the constitution. What would happen if the supreme court were to go as crazy as Ted Cruz?
Two things for sure. First, America would get another chance at survival, and second, I would go on a celebratory bender that would make the local news.
But Cruz is also Vice Chairman of the Republican Senate Group that lavishly funded Cochrane's MI 'outreach' to Democrats to defeat (Make that 'steal' a win from..) McDaniels.
Why didn't he complain to them? Mrs. Cruz a major VP and very big player at Goldman, Sachs. Any complaints there?
Ted, read FR everyday!
