Thousands of immigrant children fleeing poverty and violence in Central America to cross alone into the United States can live in American cities, attend public schools and possibly work here for years without consequences.
The chief reasons are an overburdened, deeply flawed system of immigration courts and a 2002 law intended to protect children’s welfare, an Associated Press investigation finds.
Driving the dramatic increases in these immigrants is the recognition throughout Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador that children who make the dangerous trip can effectively remain in the U.S. for years before facing even a moderate risk of deportation.
The Obama administration estimates it will catch 90,000 children trying to illegally cross the Mexican border without their parents by the end of the current budget year in September. Last year, the government returned fewer than 2,000 children to their native countries. The administration has asked Congress for $2 billion to spend on the issue.
“They almost never go home,” said Gary Mead, who until last year was director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office responsible for finding and removing immigrants living in the country. “It’s not a process that ultimately ends in easy resolutions or clear-cut resolutions.”

No, the chief reason is that Americans won’t breed.

My town’s hospital closed years ago due to this; endlessly treating patients who provide false information, resulting in bills that never get paid...
The problem with things funded by the public through taxes is that politicians treat those funded entities as if they were their personal property, give or use as they wish.

The law was passed by a Republican House, and a Senate with a Democrat majority of 1 thanks to the turncoat Jim Jeffords. The law was signed by the compassionate conservative Republican President George W. Bush.
Elections have consequences and often long term consequences. One more example that voting for moderate Republicans supports the progressive agenda.

Of course, we will have to build more schools and hire more teachers and maintain a 3 to 1 ratio of administrators to teachers to manage this mess.
The best part is that this will be the “crown jewel” in the dumbing down of our whole educational system.
Who knows? In the near future the official language of the United States of Mexico just might be Spanish.

That’s starting, our youngest is starting kindergarten and we just found out the Spanish language will be a part of their curriculum.
So then they are part of the full employment policy of the National Education Association —

Make the most of it; here in northern NJ there are an increasing number of jobs only available to bilingual people. The US in the future won’t be a bilingual country; it will be a Spanish-speaking country.

They absolutely are, replacing the children Americans won’t produce (and funded by those same Americans).

Near me is subsidized housing (thanks for that, urban renewal) and there are very few white kids even though most of the mothers are white - the school bus stop looks like a jelly bean factory.
Like like Jorge Bush wanted. His "new America" is well on its way here.
