WASHINGTON AAA Mid-Atlantic says the civil war in Iraq is pushing up gasoline prices in the United States.
Drivers in the District of Columbia are paying $3.89 per gallon. Thats up 5 cents from a week ago and is far above the national average of $3.68 per gallon.
In Maryland, AAA says gas prices are up 4 cents this week to an average of $3.67 per gallon. Prices are highest in the Washington suburbs and western Maryland.
In Delaware, AAA says gas prices have risen 7 cents over the past week to about $3.68 per gallon.
AAA says national gas prices have increased for nine consecutive days amid turmoil in Iraq. The auto club projects drivers will pay relatively high gas prices this summer from $3.55 to $3.70 per gallon.
When the national average tops $4.00 to $4.50 we should see Obumbler’s likeability rating DROP at least another 5 to 10 points.
...just wait when Baghdad falls...time to hoard?
Impossible! Barry will just blame it on Bush and his “buddies in Big Oil”.......
Yesterday, $4.69 in Chicago.
No, it is the Obama Administration’s response to the Iraqi Civil War that is pushing up gas prices. Give the green light to the XL pipeline, and you will see gas prices fall. Open up the Gulf of Mexico to new drilling (i.e. US drilling - not Chinese drilling), and you will see prices fall even more.
Everything that happens push up gas prices in the United States. And when nothing happens to push up gas prices in the United States, that pushes up gas prices.
it’s that high in CA.. How’s his numbers out there?
The media tied gas prices to bush line an anchor.. With Obama they always find something else to blame. Like a civil war in the middle east.
Too bad there isn’t a source for oil closer to the USA....wait....there is. Its called the USA.
Gas goes up....food goes up...everyone stays home and vacation places see’s a drop in attendance and starts laying off people. people cant afford movie tickets because they need to eat, so theraters start closing.
Good Job Obama....
Would you believe that gas was CAD$1.42 a litre the other day in Canada? Working through the conversions, that’s US$5.78 a gallon. And Canada is the largest supplier of oil to the US...go figure.
Why? Only 12% of the oil we use comes from that region.
IMHO, the continued delay of the pipeline approval for crass partisan purposes constitutes a 'high crime'.
Prices have gone down here 20 cents in the last three weeks.
$3.46 here. It was $3.54 last friday.
