Uganda accuses U.S. of blackmail

The U.S. has been accused of blackmail by Uganda, after President Barack Obama's administration cut funding to Uganda and cancelled a joint military exercise.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - This action is a response to a new Ugandan law which criminalizes homosexuality, and Ugandan official Ofwono Opondo was not happy. "We think it is simply blackmail," he said. "We have said it before, homosexuality is not a fundamental human right. In our own constitution, it is not guaranteed as a fundamental right."

Utterly amazing that the USA would cut funding to this country because we do not like the Constitution they formed...but consider the countries that we DO fund that engage in authentic wrongdoing.

May God have mercy on our country.

Homosexuality is an affront to a Holy God. That is why the godless view it as a sacrament.

There are several Middle Eastern countries conducting systematic genocide against Christians and Obama does nothing but let one country say it doesn’t agree with homosexual behavior and all kinds of sanctions pop out.

and yet Obama funds countries that mutilate female genitals, tolerate child marriage and honor killing, deny basic human rights like freedom of travel, school, parental and property rights and employment to women

and just released $5BILLION back to Iran

which hangs homosexuals

Have no doubt that these laws are the “will of the people” in Uganda. But the “will of the people” isn’t politically correct so the US needs to impose the correct policy on them. The irony is that the Leftists who rant and rave about the US as an imperial power are the ones who are using US power in an imperial way to impose US policies on foreign nations against the will of their own people.

Obama will not win this fight.Period.

Black Africa has no sympathy for homosexuality, and will not allow it to be forced on them. They would literally prefer to go without Western aid before that happens.

Even the bleeding-heart EU, which practically worships homosexuality, doesn’t try to force it on them, because they know they can’t win.

Something Obama, alone, is about to find out.

Maybe they hate Christianity more than they love gays, so they are willing too make an exception.

America used to promote and nurture freedom, democracy and capitalism all over the globe. Now, America just promotes deviancy and homosex. Via both our corrupt government and our putrid culture.

Our country has devolved into a very poisonous entity.

These acts are not really intended to influence Ugandan policy so much as play to the wealthy extreme progressives here in the USA. It’s all about fund raising and political activism.

It ain’t a guaranteed right in the US either, that said it is legal in most places, but people can choose not to. I for one have never, ever been attracted to someone of the same sex and many others have not either. I demand to be treated as special as anyone else.

Send the Ugandan Embassy a contribution to replace the cut in US aid, but send it in cash so the IRS enforcers can't retaliate against you. But the money might disappear anyway into someone's pocket so what to do?

Why is it that the party that screams the loudest against legislating morality has no problem with running around doing just that because they call it ‘social justice’?

Yet the US wants to deal with Iran where they hang homo’s.
