The zero-tolerance policy has become pretty insane in recent years, with school officials drastically over-reacting to kids being, well, normal kids. In one incident last year, a little boy in Maryland chewed his Pop-tart into the shape of a gun, and the adults in his school went ballistic. Legislators in Florida are pushing back against the madness by passing a Pop-tart bill.

If we cannot legislate morality then its impossible to legislate common sense. The lawmakers are addressing the wrong side of the equation. These principals and teachers involved have demonstrated they are incapable of overseeing the children’s best interests. They should not be allowed to remain in authority.
This is a move in the right direction. The right move would be to lock up the people who expelled the kids.
Play-Doh is a no no. Could be mistaken for C4. Can’t have our little ones running around with C4. /s
This was nice but there are so many “Unless...” clauses in there that it probably will change very little...
