NBC's Chelsea Clinton: I Don't Care About Money, and 'I Will Always Work Harder Than Anyone'
News Busters ^ | June 23 2014 | Cheri Jacobus

Thank goodness for Mommy's magic cattle futures!

Erstwhile NBC correspondent Chelsea Clinton claims that try as she might, she just can't make herself care about money. In an interview with the UK's Telegraph the multi-millionaire says, "I was curious if I could care about [money] on some fundamental level, and I couldn’t." Lucky for her, she doesn't have to. Like her famous mother who, in 1978 managed to take a meager $1000 investment in cattle futures and magically turn it into $100,000 and not be imprisoned for insider trading, Chelsea also seems to have the "Midas touch" when it comes to acquiring enormous amounts of money with little time, training or effort.

As liberals assail the high salaries of top corporate CEOs, the liberal safe haven of broadcast television, NBC, paid former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton an astonishing $600,000 a year. But in the interview she says she has sacrificed the high-paying jobs for her current, more humble professional life which also includes working for her parents' foundation.

The average starting salary of TV reporters nationwide is $23,300 a year. While most national network journalists rise through the ranks and/or move from small media markets to larger and then finally, only the few at the top of their game land at a network, Chelsea Clinton's talents were apparently so spectacular, that in addition to warrant being paid nearly 26 times what other first-time journalists make, she was able to start at the top in her first "journalism" job, similar to fellow NBC entry-level celeb "journalist" Ronan Farrow, (son of Mia Farrow and either Woody Allen or Frank Sinatra).

Her FIRST salary at a full-time gig out of college was $125,000 plus who KNOWS what.

Her current place in NYC is valued at $10.5 MILLION.

She married a rich finance guy.

Her most recent TV gig paid $26,000 per MINUTE.

A child of privilege who probably never worked hard in her life.

Anybody remember when this slow-brain planned to become a doctor at Stanford? What happened to that dream deferred?

Easy to not care about money when mommy and daddy have got her wrapped up tight in some foundation that will make her richer than Arianna Onassis. And just as intelligent.

I am sure she will be named to boards of non-profits or politically-connected corporations that pay 6-figures if she ever needed some money.

Yeah, sure thing sugar.
You’re being paid to do nothing while many people struggle with two jobs to make ends meet.

I’m sure she got career counseling and realized there’s no money in medicine.

But she’ll still have to wait until Michelle Robinson Obama’s second term is over in 2032 before becoming President.

I don’t think the song goes, “She works hard for NO money.”

Oh what bullshit.

Make her live like a typical middle class household does today and it might wake her up.

And as you point out, she started at 125K, and is now making 600k for the same work. Her 10 million dollar home is beside the point.

No one thinks she's being paid for her accomplishments. In fact, I don't think anyone thinks Hillary or Bill are paid for their accomplishments at their 200k or 500K+ (Bill). What they are being paid for is not their hard work in talking, they are being paid for sale of their potential future influence on government.

Influence peddling--that's the currency for all of them.

“A child of privilege who probably never worked hard in her life.”

A child of a Honeywell VP with no education whatsoever started as an expediter at the facility where I worked. He drove a fully restored Jaguar XKE. He dressed and acted like a muscular beach bum and weekends he motored around in his folks yacht with the other VP’s. In six months he’d doubled his pay and was working in a different department. I say “working” but actually he wasn’t doing much of anything as he wasn’t qualified. Six months later he was promoted again. When I left he was “managing” a large department and was up for a director’s job. Before I left he came by and chatted at us. Turns out he really thought he had worked his way up. He believed with all his soul that what had happened was due to his native raw talent and his fine skills. I think all of our mouths dropped open. When he left we shook our heads at, not only his sense of entitlement but his absolute faith in his infallibility. So, here he was, probably the youngest director ever, with his only skill being the son of a vice president.

Poor old BJ had to give one extra speech to pay for 4 yrs of Chelsea’s Stanford tuition.
It almost killed him, IIRC.

Liberal elites - either criminals or 'born on third and think they hit a triple'....

Do you think she paid full-boat list price? I don’t. She was probably considered a “catch” for Stanford.

Yep. Malia Obama will work on a Hollywood set for a summer and then she will have been one of the “little people” and be an expert on the issues that matter.

She’s one of the ‘little people’ fighting for her rights... and the rest of us? To believe it we’d have to be born yesterday.
