Gowdy lectured Koskinen on the "negative inference" drawn by the inability of the IRS to retrieve these emails, and said if a taxpayer is being prosecuted by the IRS a jury would look on them with more than a little suspicion.
He pressed Koskinen on how he knows there was no criminal wrongdoing. At one point, Koskinen exasperatedly said he's relying on "common sense," at which point Gowdy went off and lectured him, shouting, "You don't have any idea of criminal wrongdoing or not!"
When Koskinen dismissed the idea of a "conspiracy" Republicans have thought up, Gowdy shouted, "You're repeating a talking point by our colleagues on the other side!"

Only reason I watched the hearing was to see Gowdy take out after this petulant, arrogant man Koskinon or what ever it is - well worth the wait - that Koskinon was an official in the Clinton administration tells me all I have to know about him......

Unless and until someone A) gets demoted B) gets fired C) gets charged with criminal violations of the law D) goes to jail — what difference does it make whether Gowdy “owns” him?
Failure to obey the law, follow the law, violate the law - call it whatever you want to but the IRS did it and they think it’s big joke. Tell me, other than getting a stern talking-to by Trey Gowdy which of the A, B, C, or D above is going to happen to this guy? Koskinen will go home, keep his cushy job and pension, and will just have to live with the fact that Darrel Issa doesn’t like him very much.

Well, yeah, this schmuck can say “there is no conspiracy,” and he has “not seen any evidence in the e-mails recovered from Treasury” - BECAUSE THE IRS GOONS DESTROYED (”lost”) ALL THE INCRIMINATING E-MAILS that would prove such a conspiracy! I hope Gowdy rips this jerk’s balls off and boils them in oil.
If it didn’t make the Alphabet Network Evening News shows, The Daily Show, or was mocked by the Late-Night Comics, it simply doesn’t matter, it’s like it never happened at all.
