A Mississippi womans story of her disfigured 3-year-old granddaughter being discriminated against and kicked out of a Jackson KFC in May was made up, an investigation has found, the Laurel Leader-Call reported.
So they were not kicked out. The scars from a dog attack were real though?
The story didn’t seem possible.
KFC’s $30k is probably worth it to them. It’s not the little girl’s fault that she was bit, or that her grandmother did this.
There are so many hoaxes nowadays
They weren’t kicked out...they never even were in the store.
they were never in the store? say what?
I just hope the money raised (from those that still wish it to help the little girl) is administered by a third-party trust, NOT THE FAMILY.
Summary from what I read:
They were in the hospital (feeding tube issue) on day this supposedly occurred.
No surveillance video showing them in nearby restaurants.
No orders matching described order.
Restaurant they claimed this happened in has been closed - for years.
and the MSM still ran with this and KFC doled out $30K??
Because kfc didn’t stand by employees, their lives have been turned upside down.
What an insane world we live in.
When are we going to stop falling for this crap? Giving the media this much power over our lives.
Oh snap. Damn if white people like that don’t give trailer trash a bad name.
That being said... I hope the little one will be helped in spite of the hoax. You can pick your nose but you can’t pick your relatives.
It is just like a large corporation to cave with an up front thirty grand even before investigating to find out if the story has any validity. The little girl was mauled by her grandfather’s dogs and now is the center of a hoax perpetuated by her grandmother.
the grandmother is a good liar maybe the Obama regime or Organizing for Obama will hire her as they have many paid liars working for them.
“News” agencies do very little fact checking before running with sensational stories. Apparently the attorneys at corporations like KFC aren’t any smarter than the “journalists.”
If Obama had his grandmother alive...
Slander? Attempted extortion? Surely something fits.
Just like dangling nooses, Nazi symbols cut in faces, and other so-called "threats" against people....and the media buys it all...
Thank God for a few APPARENTLY honest journalists--like the ones at this paper.
+1. Exactly what you said. “Investigation” for 90% of the “journalists” is a google search.
No reading, no TRUE education, just cut and paste jobs.
No thinking, no critical evaluation, just drooling obedience to groupthink.
They ran with their tails between their legs in hopes of avoiding a media firestorm.
Poor employees are left holding the bag of public abuse.
Everyone should go buy some KFC today — and thank them for the honorable way they dealt with this unconscionable fraud.
But the lie also produced some ugly incidents: Employees and managers at both Jackson locations have faced death threats, harassment and have had drinks thrown through the drive-thru window, sources told the local newspaper.
Who didn't see this coming.
The family should be required to turn over all money raised to a third party trustee for the girl's benefit -- and the grandmother should face charges.
A whole lot of people fell for this woman’s story lock stock and chickenwing — and a whole lot of others didn’t:
