Could Saudi Arabia Be the Next ISIS Conquest?
Vocativ ^ | 06/23/14 | Rachael Levy

ISIS is continuing its blitz-like offensive in Iraq, conquering more and more territory. With its sights set on Baghdad and the Shiite shrine cities, the prospect of the capital falling to the terrorist group is causing international panic. And Iraq’s neighbors, particularly Saudi Arabia, could be the next trophy in ISIS’ expanding cabinet.

The extremist Sunni group wants to reestablish the Islamic caliphate, and has made it abundantly clear that its territorial ambitions are not limited to Syria and Iraq. Maps circulating online over the weekend, allegedly from ISIS but whose provenance could not be established, show large swathes of Africa and Asia, as well as the entire Middle East, draped in black, denoting the group’s alleged geographical ambitions.

ISIS is being misrepresented. It is not directly comparable to al Qaeda, and it’s very regional. ISIS will have a hard time taking Baghdad. And the Iraqi Army was obviously weak.

Iran should have been plastered a long time ago. The Shittites (Shia) are more insane than the insane Sunna. They're all nuts. Just wait until Obama lets Iran get the bomb, then it's all over...only Israel can stop them because America is not there, for ANYBODY. ISIS spreads like wildfire and Obama deals with Gay rights.

The Jordanian Air Force has already bombed ISIS when they tried to penetrate Jordan. This is not being reported on at all...

The Kurdish Peshmerga also repelled ISIS, which hasn’t gotten much attention here.

“The Shittites (Shia) are more insane than the insane Sunna.”

That is a contest that has been going on for a long time.

Just when you think one side is clearly nuttier, along comes an even bigger whack job.

Prior to their half-billion-dollar bank heist ISIS was likely being financed by Saudis. As fanatical as they are ISIS may not choose to kill the goose laying golden eggs.

Gotta love the Arab Spring that Obambi/Hillary promoted.

Personally, I have no problem with the Saudi Royalty getting a tast of this.

Islam is the religion of piece, many pieces, many pieces that were blown to pieces.
The West should be demanding the each Islamic community in their respective countries CONDEMN their global behavior and distance themselves from the ongoing insanity but this is not going to happen.

That doesn’t seem likely. They are essentially on the same team. Iran is the enemy of both.

Maybe President Obama should go back to Cairo and deliver his Cairo 2 speech but this time from inside those enormous cages the Egyptians use in their courtrooms to detain the accused bearded ones.

The overall problem is Islam. Islam is a cancer.

They are brutal and they swept through those areas in Iraq quickly and against little opposition.

They do not have the size to take on much more. And, whenever they faced any real opposition they get rebuffed.

The Kingdom would not be on their list anyway. They are on the same team—rock worshiping wise.

They have been getting their asses kicked in Syria by Assad.

"Could Saudi Arabia Be the Next ISIS Conquest?"

No, the Saudis are not afraid to do dirty things to insurgents and they are rich enough to buy favorable media coverage.

ISIL is well generaled but will not be able to defeat the determined defensive wall that will be established around Baghdad. I suspect the general will take a few swipes at the defensive line and then establish ISIL’s own defensive line to the north of the city.

The only question is where will the defensive perimeter be established.

The purpose of the exercise is to develop a zone of containment around Iran. Syria and Iraq must be eliminated as Iranian allies to ensure that development.

The purpose of the containment is to protect the Gulf States.

As the exercise unfolds, it is obvious that it is not only well executed, but very well planned. There are some very god military commanders in charge of the ISIL operations.

Assas must be fearful because he knows that once the defensive line is established in Iraq, the army will be redirected into Syria. Allepo is toast,
