Senator Amnesty, Lamar Alexander, from Tennessee has managed to double down on stupid.
Mr. Alexander is clearly working on becoming the next Eric Cantor.
Mr. Alexander voted along with a lot of other senators for the so-called Gang of Eight amnesty bill. Mr. Alexander was one of 14 Republican senators who broke ranks and voted for amnesty.
Given how red Tennessee is and given how unpopular amnesty is among the Republican base, a sane candidate would be distancing himself from that vote.
Not Mr. Alexander.
Mr. Alexander doubled down on stupidity in a comment that was first published by the Knoxville News Sentinel. He said, We have amnesty today. Turning your head while 11 million people are already here illegally is perpetual amnesty. I voted along with 67 other United States senators to end perpetual amnesty.

Hard to figure which Senator was being referred to as “Senator Amnesty” - honestly!
There are so many of them!
Most of the ruling class is actively at war with the people whom they are supposed to serve. They consider their constituents to be those who line their pockets, not those who live in their district.
“Mr. Alexander is clearly working on becoming the next Eric Cantor.”
Actually, he’s clearly working on becoming the next Lindsey Graham, being a moderate to liberal senator who continually says “screw you! I’m going to do what I want and get reelected anyway and there’s nothing you can do about it!”
If Cochran goes down tonight, Alexander may be a little more worried, because they vote nearly in lockstep:
Alexander (TN) - 08/07/14 - 55% (Average) - 46% (Heritage) - 67% (CFG) - 60% (ACU) - 45% (FreedomWorks)
Cochran (MS) - 06/24/14 - 54% (Average) - 57% (Heritage) - 56% (CFG) - 60% (ACU) - 41% (FreedomWorks)
When TN people believe in Lamar! so strongly, what can be done to correct them of the error of their ways!
yeah--red--but they will probably continue to vote for him...
The thing is, TN is so red that the Democrats always have to run as Republicans.
Corker and Alexander, along with 12 other Reps voted for the Gang of 8 bill. It makes you wonder if TN is really that red. McCain and Flake are the other two Reps from the same state that voted for the Gang of 8 bill.
