Thad Cochran courting black Democrats to rescue GOP in Mississippi
The Guardian ^ | June 24 2014 | Paul Lewis

Democratic-leaning black voters in Mississippi are being asked to rescue the Republican establishment from another defeat by the Tea Party on Tuesday, in the final chapter of one of the most bizarre races of the Senate primary season.

The Mississippi Republican primary was forced into a run-off earlier this month after Chris McDaniel, a former talk radio host and Tea Party conservative, narrowly triumphed over , the incumbent senator who has occupied the same seat for four decades.

In the closing stages of the Mississippi race, 76-year-old Cochran, the epitome of a southern, Republican appropriator, has taken the unusual step of courting the votes of African Americans, who constitute 37% of the state’s population.

Under Mississippi rules, all voters, regardless of affiliation, are permitted to vote in the GOP primary, as long as they did not also cast a vote in the parallel Democratic primary. After the embarrassing defeat in the first round of voting, Cochran’s strategists calculated that their best option was to appeal to a broader base of voters, including those who do not usually support the party.

Cochran who has been joined on the campaign trail by Arizona senator – considered a moderate in Republican circles – has tacked to the left in the three-week campaign, emphasising the benefits of federal spending he has been instrumental in securing for Mississippi.

That should oughta convince the TEA partiers why they need to get out IN FORCE to defeat this A-hole...

Is it true you can only vote in this primary run-off if you voted in the first one?

No. Citizens must have been registered for the June 3 primary be eligible to vote in the June 24 runoff.

People who didn't vote in Tuesday's primary can vote in the June 24 runoff.

This is driving such a wedge into the heart of the party. I think third party now is the way for the tea party to go.

The only way to overcome the GOPe/DemoRAT 4% margin-of-cheating is to defeat them by landslides.

Yes....Ladiea & Gentlemen that reside in the great state of Mississippi, Thad Cochran has officially jumped the shark and accepted the mantle, as the now, Obama, Obamabot, African-American, left-wing Democrat candidate, in his quest to win the runoff race against, Chris McDaniel. Cochran is joined by RINOs, John McCain, Mitch McConnell and Haley Barbour, etc. These Republican Establishment low life may just as well also be called Obamabot Democrats.

So......Voters in the great state of: “Ole Miss”, get out and vote today for Chris McDaniel, the only anti-Obama candidate in the running!!! Do it...right now!!!

Wrong!
Running a political party is a huge financial and administrative expense, and not every State has a screwed up GOP State Party.
Take over the existing operations of the GOP.

If I still lived in MS, I would furious about this.
It’s one thing to have MY vote countered by a RINO.
It is another to have my vote countered by a democrat
voting in a GOP primary.

This is the worst kind of dirty trick.
And it will come back to bite the GOP in a big way, if
Cochran wins a GOP primary with democrat votes.

The state house and senate members who supported Cochran
and this nonsense will be run out of town, tar and feathered.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
There will be hell to pay, if Cochran wins in this way.

I really do not know!!! This is tricky stuff!!! I really believe that the number of African-Americans that vote for Thad Cochran will be voided out by a like number of Republican voters who were going to vote for Cochran, but switched their vote to McDaniel because of the “African-American” voter gig pulled off by the Republican Establishment led by Haley Barbour!!! I think a great numbers of “Cochran” Pubbies left Cochran to vote for McDaniel because of this dirty move by McCain, McConnell & Barbour, etc.!!!

And......the Black folks, already thrown under the bus by Obama, his Democrats, the CBC and NAACP, can now add the Republican Establishment & RINOs to their list of political abusers and users......WOW....talk about being adrift-at-sea!!! Under Obama, African-Americans have become economic slaves, under Haley Barbour...they have become political slaves!!! Gonna be adrift-at-sea, for a long time. Picked the wrong dudes to hang with!!!

Time is still left, folks, to cast your vote for Chris McDaniel!!! Do it!!!

Working as a GREETER, SIGN WAVER for McDaniel this morning in Desoto County, where McDaniel received 63% of the vote and carried all 39 prescient’s in the primary, I had several voter’s mention they had decided to vote and vote for McDaniel because of Thad seeking democrat votes, one voter indicated he had changed sides because of it. The primary was close and a few thousand democrats could make a difference. And I am furious about this also thad’s paid n Desoto County campaign manager was arrested Sunday night for destroying and stealing McDaniel signs, just another democrat for cochran.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping there was going to be an opposite
reaction to Cochroach seeking RAT votes.
I only hope it is equal too. For every RAT vote there is a new vote for
McDaniel, as well.

Third parties guarantee the Democrats will win. Enough die-hard socialists and low information voters will go for the Dems. The TEA party needs to reform the GOP from within.

You know Phil Bryant could stop this or at least say this is in bad taste. We need to remember this day when our “Tea Party” governor is up for re-election.

They can all remember that the next time they’re up for election. Maybe all these new Republican supporters can vote for them then too?

No, it won’t, just like the NRSC coaching Murkowski in securing her AK seat against TEA Joe Miller by courting the state’s RAT base running Independent.
