Scandal: The endless stream of IRS visitors to the White House and the involvement of campaign donors in the Tea Party-targeting scandal belie the claim by the head of the agency that there is no White House involvement.
The first thing investigators often ask in pursuit of criminal activity is who would benefit. That the Obama administration, burned in 2010 by the rise of the Tea Party and by the Citizens United decision, would benefit from the IRS' targeting and harassment of Tea Party groups spawned by grass-roots opposition to big government in general and ObamaCare in particular is beyond dispute.
Yet IRS Commissioner John Koskinen repeated the argument by Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee at Monday night's hearing that enough evidence was in to dismiss the idea that the IRS scandal was a cover-up directed from the White House.
That did not sit well with Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., who noted that those who blame the GOP for raising a possible White House connection ignore some inconvenient facts. "It was Jay Carney that perpetuated the myth that it was two rogue agents in Ohio. It wasn't any of us. Was that accurate?" Gowdy asked the IRS chief.
Gowdy also noted President Obama's insistence to Fox News host Bill O'Reilly that there was not a "smidgeon of corruption" at the IRS an odd statement coming from a supposedly above-the-battle chief executive as investigations by both the Congress and the IRS Inspector General were still going on. That is, unless he was getting updates and assurances from IRS personnel all along.

This lying sneering goatslime is 100% Obama operative
They should all be locked up. Waterboarding would be nice, too. After all, they’re all enemies of America.
Yeah, it’s a bit late. The White House already involved itself.
This is from Gowdy’s own YouTube channel, which I recommend you join:
“Not a smidgen.”
Koskinen, are you talking about only the visits we’re aware of, just like the emails? or does that include all of them?
I loved the way Gowdy filleted that smug arrogant turkey.
What did a FReeper call him yesterday?”Kokskin?” Perfect!
I was not aware of this; I watched to whole committee hearing last night and never heard him questioned about these donations.
I agree completely. Gowdy is passionate, a dogged pursuer and he has a legal mind made of steel.
If this guy ever runs, to vote for him I’d roll bound, gagged and nude across broken glass to vote for him.
His speech the other day to SC Boy’s State was just amazing, also —so moving I cried.
A younger, lawyer version of RR, maybe ? Maybe not saying too much.
Ask Koskinen WHY IRS officials were going to the white house. And point out that he’s incompetent if he doesn’t know the answer. What an arrogant little worm.
Koskinen looks so...so...so KGB to me.
This guy needs to go to jail so bad! Koskinen is an absolute criminal!
The Koskinen strategy is to:
1) Tell me nothing in e-mails or any other recordable media
2) Keep me in the dark so I can say “I’ve not seen anything...”
3) I will not ask for deeper investigation into anything and you will not suggest.
4) I need to maintain “plausible deniability.”
I saw the below piece this morning, it blew me away.
“According to the Washington Free Beacon, Koskinen has donated about $100,000 to Democrat candidates and committees since his first donation in 1979. His donor recipients include Gary Hart, the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic nominee in each presidential campaign since 1980 (which would even include Walter Mondale, who stood no chance of beating President Ronald Reagan in 1984), the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Hillary Clintons and Barack Obamas campaigns. He most recently donated $2,500 to Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) in 2013.”
Gowdy is brilliant, to sit there and have all that was covered in that grilling in your head and spit it out like he did.
I’d vote for him in a second if I could, maybe I’ll be able to one day.
Can we find out how many times IRS officials visited the White House during the Bush administration? Is this a regular thing regardless of who is president or just with Zero in charge?
Koskinen looks so...so...so KGB to me.
Actually, I think he would have fit right in Hitler’s SS Corps. He just has that look and demeanor.
