The VA is based on a backwards system of incentives in which veterans are incentivized to move to categories of increasing disability rather than try to recover whatever health they can. It would have to be cheaper and simpler to eliminate the VA altogether and simply provide veterans with something like medicare which they could use for treatments at their discretion.

Boy! You are so stinking wrong. How the %$^& dare you use the word, ‘incentivized’!

Veterans are military members, some of which have lost their hearing, their eyesight, lost a limb or more, in the performance of their duties, in times of war.

The disability benefits are a PAYBACK for the loss by the individual, which is completely different, from stoop-sitters, who won’t raise a finger, or put on the uniform, without government assistance.
