Federal appeals court overturns Utah's ban on gay marriage

In a decision coming from Utah, a federal appeals court on Wednesday for the first time backed gay marriage.

The Denver-based U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower-court decision that struck down the state's bans on same-sex marriage.

The ruling, which was stayed, sets the stage for an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, which touched off the current round of legal fighting on the issue when it struck down parts of the federal Defense of Marriage Act last year.

Indiana and Utah are NOT the same state. You pulled my thread on Indiana, because of an existing article about Utah? Judge Strikes Down Indiana Ban on Gay Marriage

I'd like to see a headline that reads Judge gets struck down... perhaps by a bolt of lightning

Why doesn’t our side ever get a judge to ban the ban on the ban of “gay” marriage?

I posted an asrticle about gay marriage being imposed by the courts in Indiana: Judge Strikes Down Indiana Ban on Gay Marriage

Admin Moderator locked the thread because this one about Utah was posted. Can you tell me if I am insane and didn't realize Indiana is the same state as Utah.

Okay, I am sorry for the confusion. I search by title, just Indiana and gay marriage, and I went back two hours manually and did not see the article on Indiana. And was confused by the Utah thing.

The BS of this is that despite the gays best efforts the people in that state and others voted to ban it. It was not a close enough margin for the libs to steal the election. These judges need to go!

Indeed, the problem is not two lesbians wanting a tax deduction and hospital visitation rights. It is the straight liberal activist who sees homosexuality as a convenient battering ram for getting Christians out of politics and public life. Just attacking churches is obvious bigotry so they go around it by saying it is the churches that are attacking same sex couples.

RE :”Thank God we elected for a Republican President and stopped more activist judges from getting on the bench. Gotta vote GOP for the judges. < /sarcasm> “

I have no reason to believe that GWBush was against gay marriage, look at Cheney and Nicole Wallace.

So many states, so many court cases attacking traditional marriage on almost a daily basis, it is easy to see why one would be confused.

I have a few “post stalkers” since I’m an Article V guy so these are examples of the states just taking what comes from Fedzilla...

10th Amendment, Nullification & voting are no longer viable options for citizens to “fix” DC & the Uniparty...

The courts are the only lawmaking branch left in America. Until they are knocked down then Nothing moral will stand.
