Disturbing imagery. Regardless in this race we had a scummy Republican and a good Republican. Why throw out the good with the bad? It's going to be a lot harder to create a 3rd party than it would be to take the party back.

I'm not sure that's the case -- it may be doable on the local-level, but I just don't see it happening on the national level... the problem is essentially that for every "good" (stand-for-something) guy we put in we get an order of magnitude more "toe-the-line"-politicians, and the Republican party, as a whole and on the national-level, has shown that it has not intention whatsoever for pursuing its platform planks.

UKIP decided to go third party, and are now dominating their former “conservative” party. I wouldn’t have supported a third party Monday, but a state level third party in Mississippi may be the way to go. Look at Minnesota, which doesn’t have a democrat party. It is the democrat farm and labor party.

It’s not about a 3rd party. It’s about a 2nd party. The GOP and RATS run together now. Virtually indistinguishable. Together they behave as the Uniparty.
