A legendary Special Forces commander was quietly forced to leave the U.S. Army after he admitted to a love affair with a Washington Post war correspondent, who quit her job to secretly live with him for almost a year in one of the most dangerous combat outposts in Afghanistan.
U.S. Army Special Operations Command never publicly disclosed that highly-decorated Green Beret Major Jim Gant was relieved of command at the end of a harrowing 22 months in combat in March 2012.
His commanders charged in confidential files that he had "indulged in a self-created fantasy world" of booze, pain pills and sex in a tribal village deep in Taliban and al Qaeda country with his "wife," journalist Ann Scott Tyson.

Sounds like Colonel Kurz....
How many does this make? Are they set-ups?
Marlon Brando’s character Col Walter Kurtz in Apocalypse Now must have been his idol
They were on to him when they intercepted the following radio message:
I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That’s my dream; that’s my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor... and surviving.
Can’t judge duh man w/o evidence.
And why aren’t all the others in his command structure and unit in danger of any consequence?
It’s not like he slept with a bed bug every night.
A whole live human being was in his bunk.
She had to eat, use the toilet and shower. Might have even needed a doctor or gynecologyst during this time.
He’s the only one being punished?
This happened in 2012? And ABC is bringing it back up?
Not pretty, but still:
STRAIGHT SEX FORBIDDEN..?
She’s totally hitable.
A man’s got needs.
I find both “Not Guilty” with prejudice. ..
Let the record be cleaned and expunged.
You sir are free to continue killing the enemy and coming home every night to boink your babe...
Sounds like that story where the GI flew his girlfriend to Vietnam and she ended up going on patrol with the Special Forces.
WTH is that?
It doesn’t even come close to the pic above...
If that’s the real thing, then maybe the guy got sick and needs medical care.
"Now, that's my kind of party!"

Shacking up with someone working for WaPo definitely shows poor judgement. If it was a Fox News gal it would be completely different.
“This happened in 2012? And ABC is bringing it back up?”
Running a series of headline stories that seem, on the surface, to mirror an already bad story subconsciously makes a large portion of people meld the stories together (ie, the Bird-Dawg desertion).
The point is to make Bird-Dawg seem “normal” - maybe even common.
The media does this mind trick often with gun stories.
It’s coordinated, too, for maximum impact.
After a while, the editors and journalists who aren’t even in on the scam start running similar stories because they see these articles in the majors and this tricks them into thinking that Americans are interested in these stories. And the trick multiplies.
It’s been going on since at least the Civil War.
Hopefully they will get a movie deal and become wealthy. Quite a story.
