Washington (CNN) - Expanding his IRS investigation by more than two decades, House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa, R-California, has sent a subpoena to the Federal Elections Commission for all communications involving former IRS administrator Lois Lerner from January 1, 1986 to the present day.

This new search is the broadest-yet for records in a year-long investigation by Issa and congressional Republicans, who are trying to assess why the agency targeted tea party and other political groups for extra scrutiny.

I think you’re right and it opens him to accusations of ‘witch hunting’. Why do this? Why not subpoena the IT people at the IRS and stay on target?

This revelation is pretty significant.

Let’s audit a Republican Senator before they even do anything. He hadn’t even attended the event, yet.

House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa, R-California, has sent a subpoena to the Federal Elections Commission for all communications involving former IRS administrator Lois Lerner from January 1, 1986 to the present day.

The IRS Response:

"Tragically, all communications from January 1, 1986 to the present day have been erroneously destroyed. We checked out a single hard drive on one computer where the records were kept, to an Air Hockey Game tournament, where it was mistakenly used as a puck. The information is, sadly, irretrievable. Oh, and the damaged platters were eaten by our dog."

"PS: F*** you. Expect an audit, bitch."

He is publicizing IRS abuse, and doing a very good job of it, with no co-operation from the Democrats.

The whole point of an Issa ‘incest’igation is to run out the clock and provide protection for Democrats.

We have won global wars in less time it has taken this fraud to get even this far. And to what end? Red meat for people that still believe the GOP exists as a separate/opposition party.

And at the end of Barrys rule, the GOP will then call for ‘healing’ and coming together because it is a new day.

And no one goes to jail.

It's a good writeup.

But harsh language won't stop these lawless Democrat maniacs.

Handcuffs and drawn guns might.

Do you hear me now, Mr. Boehner? If you do not, perhaps you might listen to John Locke: "Where laws end, tyranny begins."

They may still do that. Why worry about their accusations anyway?

Will doesn’t apply when the actual intent is to not find/ fix a given problem but to protect it.. They want this as a diversion and a get out the vote tool/pressure relief to give the illusion of action while protecting anyone from Greybar Estates.

The only will there is is the will to defraud their voters with Kabuki theater.

What would you have Issa do differently? Congress only has power to investigate and refer to the AG for prosecution.

It’s the AG who is sitting on his thumbs.
