The Koch brothers' game plan [email from a nobama minion]

NOTE: Gratuitous links that whine and beg for your precious disposable dollars have been trashed.

Friend --

They've spent millions to fund climate change denial ... and they're just getting started.

The Koch brothers and their allies just announced their plan to spend nearly $300 million this year to not only elect climate change deniers, but also to oppose President Obama's plan to curb carbon pollution from power plants.

That's their game plan: spend as much as humanly possible to get their way.

We're the ones who get to tell them that's not going to work this time -- our grassroots movement doesn't have to outspend them, but we need to have the resources to fight back.

The President's climate plan isn't small potatoes -- it would reduce carbon emissions from existing power plants 30 percent by 2030. The New York Times called it "the strongest action ever taken by an American president to tackle climate change."

It's no coincidence that dirty polluters and special interests like the Koch brothers are pouring their money into shutting down the President's plan.

This is a time when being a grassroots movement pays off -- no matter how much the other side spends, everything we're doing is focused on reaching actual people.

As long as each of us steps up to play a part, what we're building is the single greatest threat to these interests' strategies.

Thanks,

Lindsay Siler, National Director of Issue Campaigns, Organizing for Action

This thread is a free-fire zone. Have at it.

I've noticed that the last few emails I've gotten from OFA, with a few changes, could be from a Tea Party group. Interesting.

The President's climate plan isn't small potatoes...

No it's certainly not. He promised "electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket" (paraphrase). Prolly the only true statement he's made in years.

That is an accurate quote from the New York times. Here's the whole quote: "It would be the strongest action ever taken by an American president to tackle climate change and could become one of the defining elements of Mr. Obama’s legacy."

"Defining elements..." ya mean, like, nobamacare?

Cap and tax carbon.
Because there’s a 1% chance China might try it.

Good Lord these people are stupid.

A friend has somehow gotten on a DNC email list. She receives 3 to 5 emails every day, pleading for money to stop those horrible Republicans.

It’s amazing to me that people don’t just unsubscribe. I’d be okay with ONE a day. But more than that & that would be the end.

Thank goodness the RNC is no longer calling me. Changing my registration to “unaffiliated” did the trick.

I’m just on the OFA list and the emails go to a junk gmail address I check about once or twice a week. OFA will send 5-6 emails a week. I post the most hilarious ones here.
