As long as DirecTV is the only outlet for NFL Sunday Ticket, they’ve got me. Otherwise, it’s tempting to contemplate cutting the cord.
They've been very accommodating. Any changes I've ever need to make to either phone, cellular, internet, or TV ... they've done it. Didn't even argue when I called to drop TV. They asked why, I said I just don't watch enough to warrant paying for it.
Must correct this statement. Up until today, all was fine. I was in World Cup heaven. But the Watch ESPN channel was much different looking and very, very slow today. And they had NO World Cup matches available. Had to watch on my computer. Not happy about that at all.
Buy a bottle of “Mexican” Coke. Put it in the fridge. Drink it. That’s Coke.
You will be stunned at the difference in taste.
7-Up’s another one - it tastes like a cheap store brand knockoff of itself.
I’ve had Mexican coke in Mexico in 2003. I recall it was good but I don’t recall being blown away by the difference.
It was really hot when we went to Chichen Itza, boy that place sucked (imagine standing in line to enter a tunnel of BO and bad breath), I was real thirsty. I guzzled coke and didn’t even have to pee.
Well, after 11 years, try it again, young man. :)
I’m not familiar with that restaurant. I take it that it sucks.
You must have been dehydrated if you guzzled a Coke and didn’t have to weewee.
Chichen Itza is a Mayan ruin, 2-3 hour drive from Cancun.
I didn’t know you went to Mexico?!?! Nice!
I bought a Roku 3 last weekend. Took about 5 minutes to set it up and another 5 to load my credentials for Amazon Prime and NetFlix. Great user interface, easy to use, very small, even comes with in-ear headphones that plug into the remote for late-night listening. The remote has gyros and accelerometers built in, so you can use it to play games, too. It’s quite a gadget.
I can’t get rid of Comcast because my wife if an total sports junkie. It’s $1,000 or more down the drain every year. I’m perfectly happy with Prime and NF, my own DVD collection, and borrowing from the library. I do Tivo 24 and do capture some great old movies because it is searching for Directors and actors.
A FR movie discussion last week steered me to John Ford’s “The Sun Shines Bright” which I watched from YouTube. What a great movie.
I really have no need for TV any more. Of course, FR takes up a lot of time that the boob tube used to capture ;>)
Thanks for the info! It all helps.
“You get soft porn for free from the networks in case you haven’t noticed. ..”
Agreed.
But cable is worse yet.
A while ago, Pepsi and Mountain Dew came out with “Original Formula” products, even in the retro cans that I remember as a kid. Tried it, and basically spit it out. Can’t believe I liked it when I was a kid...
I don’t drink soda too much anymore, either way. Too sweet. I drink ice cold water or ice cold beer if I’m outside working. ProPel or Gatorade are also good - but Gatorade is also a bit too sweet.
Jack Daniel’s is good too, along with Woodford Reserve or Jameson’s.
I also have given up soda, save when I can occasionally indulge with “the real stuff”.
For my carbonation fix, I stick to flavored seltzer water.
My childhood ‘sweet tooth’ has never abated.
FYI- cord cutters using PlayOn who want to watch Fox News, go to http://www.hulkusaa.com/watch-fox-news-live-streaming/
and add to “Playmark” using the PlayOn browser extension. Been using it for months without an issue, and the picture is pretty damn good.
It’s a good link for those who want to watch through a browser too.
It’s funny - as I got older, I lost the taste for lots of sugar in food and drink.
Even iced tea sometimes is way too sweet (but it’s great when ice cold).
I’m good with beer. It’s life.
Yep, it’s tough getting old...
