USS New York, Carrying a Benghazi Suspect, Has Gone Dark
Washington Post ^ | June 25 | THOMAS GIBBONS-NEFF

Where is the USS New York?

At 684 feet long and displacing over 24,900 tons, the Mayport, Fla.-based San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock is no smart car of the seas. Yet the vessel has gone “dark” for more than a week now.

The low profile might have something to do with the fact that the New York is currently home to the recently captured Ahmed Abu Khattala, one of the accused ringleaders of the Sept. 11-12, 2012, Benghazi terrorist attacks that left four Americans dead.

While any ship’s location is supposed to be a well-guarded secret when deployed, the New York is in a unique position, because instead of threading its way through the Suez Canal or dodging a Chinese destroyer, it’s believed to be steaming toward the East Coast: Abu Khattala is expected to be arraigned soon in Washington.

The ship’s crew has been noticeably absent from social media, most likely due to the fact that the entire ship’s outbound communications have been blacked out, or as the military calls it: “River City.” River City is usually implemented when a soldier is wounded or killed during combat operations. It allows for the Defense Department to notify family members before word gets out through unofficial means such as social media.

Officials have said Abu Khattala must be flown directly from the ship into the District for legal reasons.

He’ll be a proper team player, screaming high and low about HOW VERY ANGRY HE WAS ABOUT THAT HORRIBLE VIDEO.

Then in grand ceremony he’ll be packed off to superman for his bad, bad, SUPER LONG punishment.

Then his Luxembourgh account will be credited, they’ll swap in a double to do his time, and he’ll be swapped back to Libya or some other sand-blown, fly-choked, Middle-Eastern hell hole.

The whole aim?

CLEAR THE WAY FOR HILLAGHAZI.

This reeks of a loose lips sinks ships item. Why should the media report on activities of a ship at sea. If it is important, the military will make an announcement - or the COOTUS.

"slow boat to china, why the hell would they bring him back via ship and not on a plane."

Maybe they need to chat with him a few days before he gets here and has a lawyer tell him to STFU.

Why bring him back at all? He committed an act of war against America, that doesn’t call for a trial in New York. It calls for a lead belt and a push off the side.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.

Looks like they have plenty of Baseball fields and a lacrosse facility where they could land. Or perhaps Martin Luther King Blvd. (Yes, I also spotted the 250 foot long runway at the Air Force Base.) Looks like most of the facility has been converted to residential and recreational for the brass.

The U.S.S New York is the ship that has 25 tons of WTC steel I her bow.

Maybe that is the message for the terrorist.

To interrogate him prior to the Justice Dept. granting him US civil jurisdictional rights. Miranda rights, court appointed attorneys, etc.

Probably to give Abu Khattala and Susan Rice enough time to get their 'stories straight' about it all being over a video...
