Social media makes it easier and cheaper to build movements quickly but bypassing the business of creating decision-making infrastructure means they can disappear just as fast.
Where have all the chanters gone; the gospel-minded Christians and the denouncers of banksters and tyrants; the homeless and the indebted and unemployed who filled our urban squares in 2011-12, crying out such slogans as "We are the 99 percent" and "The people want the end of the regime"? Where are the leaderless revolutionaries who turned cities around the world upside down?
The simple answer is: they were dispersed. When the sometimes public parks were swept clear of troublemakers, many dispersed into a scatter of left-wing campaigns. Other activists now escort visitors around bare, fenced-off Zuccotti Park near Wall Street. In London, free bus tours with guides in top hats carry the curious around the City and Canary Wharf (Make your very own credit default swap and find out how to create money out of thin air!).
One Occupy London stalwart, a sermon-on-the-mount Christian who negotiated with the Bishop of London at St Pauls in 2011, emails me to say: Many of us from Occupy London have ended up going all over the world. Our decisions to travel to the far-reaches were probably inspired by Occupy in many cases, although not all of us are working as activists in other countries. We remain in touch with each other, and support the hardcore group that are fighting fracking in the UK now
B returned to the USA, C is in Pakistan, D in Spain, E in Tunisia, F in Greece, others are in India, Africa, Thailand
I am currently living in Kuwait, teaching the young to be critical thinkers.(continued)

I guess the Guardian doesn’t want the readers to understand just how tiny OWS really was.
They changed the definition of 1%er from hardcore Motorcycle Gangster to Richest 1%.
That is pretty much what they accomplished.
You know what’s really hilarious? On the music production boards I read, filled with libs and a few occuidiots (admitted ones, I occasionally see discussing buying new/selling/collecting old synths and gear. Some of it could literally feed a homeless guy or three for a couple years.
But they are no capitalists!
I had one with RACKS of gear that all draws respectable amounts of power to feed tell me some time back that I was evil for using a battery powered wireless mouse.
It’s a whole different reality between their ears.
They are all hypocrites and they don’t care.
lol. as if actual Christians were involved in this movement that actively chanted death to Christians.
Some of them are now being trained by FEMA as an Obama ‘civil police force’. Got a mom & pop shop? these f&&& will be there to smash it and redistribute your wealth. However in the event they try it on a fellow Freeper i am willing to come down there and ‘handle’ them, and im sure many will join me.
Its amazing to watch since I am totally non political there for the most part. they just talk like no one is watching when it comes to all that evil material goods/energy stuff for the most part. And boy do they love love love expensive toys and plugging them in.
Just a total disconnect from reality.
OH!! and the lava lamps and christmas lights. Every ‘studio’ needs them for sheer looks and cool factor.
Earth day I make it a point to hit every music board I can. It’s like winning the entertainment lottery reading the ‘evil denier’ posts and such. I highly recommend it.
I would probably explode.
It’s a riot! Not a one of them thinks ‘their’ energy use is bad. Not one. Just the evil right wing deniers.
Theirs is being used for ‘good’ you see...
Exactly. The head of Greenpeace flies all over the world in a private jet but that is fine, it’s only bad when productive people do it.
I wouldn’t even try there. Just watch and laugh. Just a quick one.
The main object of lust for any techie musico is a full size mixing desk. the big studio desk that cost 200K new kinda thing. Like a 72 channel SSL 4000G plus. Just picture BIG and hungry.
TWO 220V rack mount power supplies hungry requiring their own HVAC to cool them.
And these earth conscious guardians of Gaia would rape an oak tree to have one.
“It’s okay when we do it” is sort of the 3 laws of leftism.
They disappeared because THEY WERE NOTHING BUT ASTROTURF ALL ALONG. When the Democrat/media complex realized that the general sociopathy exhibited at Occupy camps was hurting more than helping, they began ignoring the Occupiers.
The whole movement was based (as with all things leftist) on emotion rather than intellect, so it crumbled rather easily.
And once again, you have to go to a foreign news source to even find the question being asked.
The whole thing was orchestrated and paid for. A propaganda venture.
It's no surprise that proponents of so-called "critical thinking"--essentially a point of view that blames every bad thing in the universe on Christianity and the West--have found their way to the Muslim world.
I guarantee there's no "critical" examination of Islam and the Koran in his little "critical thinking" class. That's for 100% certain.
Remember when critical thinking meant objective analysis?
Just another PC word hijack on full display.
I’m sure a few have made it to Hong Kong with its “Occupy Central” protests. Central, for those who don’t know is generally the business and financial center of Hong Kong. Occupy Central is against big business, some government programs and China.
They ran out of other people’s money and had to get a real job, to pay the very real rent and buy some authentic food...
They gave in to the man...
