Jackson, Mississippi just had a large number of democrats turn out in a republican primary, they could hold it in Jackson that would help with the payoff to the democrats for their republican votes. I’ve been an active Republican since 1964, never missed an election, primary, runoff, never voted for a democrat. I’ve worked and contributed. The gop and especially the rnsc can go to hell with the democrats.

Am I the only one that thinks these 6 months campaigns to find a city are stupid?

“Dallas never. The assignation undercurrent still there”

I know what you’re trying to say but with all due respect you’re an idiot. The 84 convention was here, in Dallas, and it was a big hit. I even got to meet the Great One himself.

Fort Worth would be a better choice. Dallas sucks.

As an Ohioan, I have to set the record straight - we are deep down a red state. However, the large urban cities like Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland are deep blue and carry the state in Presidential elections. For example, McCain and Romney both would have carried Ohio had it not been for these populace areas. I wish we could determine the outcome of elections by the number of counties a candidate carries - that would be more realistic as to the wishes of the electorate.

“...we are deep down a red state. However, the large urban cities like Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland are deep blue and carry the state in Presidential elections.”

Believe it or not, Minnesota sounds a lot like that. The core cities of Minneapolis-St Paul and the first ring suburbs (as well as the Iron Range) overwhelm the rest of the state - which votes red.

Your idea is a good one.

I’m betting it will be in Dallas. GOP wants $60 million and Dallas says they already have $45 mil. Cleveland has a “no comment” on their cash flow because they don’t have the donors. And its biggest problem is the lack of hotel rooms. Only 25K compared to Dallas’ 60+.

How can I say this? I live in Greater Cleveland.

Greater than what?

The Columbus burbs are all very red too, especially to the north and east.

It’s the city itself that is blue and even then, there are pockets of red on the northwest side.

I, for one, am glad it’s not in Columbus. It would make traffic a nightmare.
