We are our brothers’ keepers, and we need to be wise as we plan international policy and personal treatment. Nevertheless, it is idealistic and unreasonable to expect that the insane consequences of our human condition will be eradicated this side of eternity.

This is very interesting reflection on the anniversary of World War I. It embraces Christian worldview. It is not often then such presentation can be found in media.

We can’t be our brother’s and sister’s keepers and the world should not make us feel guilty about the injustices of both society and the world. That said, we can still be kind to others and generous as we are able.

We are our brothers’ keepers

No we're not. This is not part of a Christian world view. Its origin is in a snide answer Cain gave to God concerning his brother's whereabouts. It has been made into a biblical truism by the biblicly ignorant similar to "God helps those who help themselves."

The presented worldview, in print, may have applied, at one time, TO THE WEST, only.

At the inception of ‘The Marshall Plan’, there was a lumbering beast called The Soviet Union, that had a different plan, world domination under Communism, who had no use for ‘caring of your brother’, unless it profited the State.

The evolution of the conditions of the world, politically, economically, and spiritually, revolted, at that ‘caring for your brother’, even within Christianity. (Remember the prosperity preachers?)

Today, those that wish to be able to care for their own families, in times of social want or distress, are rebuked, by the very leader of the free world.

Today, the American populace are hammered daily, that they themselves, must divulge themselves of their own needs and desires, in a shrouded message of submission, to what is becoming ‘The State’, instead of, once was, the more free, United States.

In this atmosphere, one cannot openly ‘care for his brother’, without some nameless bureaucratic, suited, briefcased individual(s) showing up at your door, to correct you of your manners.

Those days, written by the author of the piece, are truly ‘last millenium’ thinkling.
