TRUE THE VOTE CALLS ON MISSISSIPPI GOP CHAIR TO PRESENT ELECTION RECORDS FOR INDEPENDENT REVIEW
True the Vote ^ | 26th of June 2014

Posted on 06/26/2014 9:57:53 PM PDT by kingattax

LAUREL, MS. -- June 26, 2014: True the Vote (TTV), the nation's leading voters’ rights and election integrity organization, today released a letter submitted to Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef calling for the release of absentee balloting information for independent review prior to election certification.

"In order to avoid potential state and federal legal challenges we request that you preserve all absentee ballot applications, absentee ballots and accompanying mailing envelopes until the challenges to them can be resolved,” the letter stated. “Furthermore, we request that you not certify this election until this matter can be satisfactorily resolved.”

"This issue strikes at the heart of election integrity," True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht said. "Confidence in our voting process risks damage beyond repair when politicians of either party are willing to flout election laws in the name of self-preservation. Voters deserve to know that election processes and protocols were followed – especially in a close outcome."

The letter, submitted by Bernie, Maynard & Parsons attorney L. Eades Hogue, asks that Chairman Nosef reply by Friday, June 27. County party officials across the state were copied on the letter.

Won’t happen, this election came out exactly how the Republican party wanted it to come out.

And the more they push this, the more Rev. Al, Jesse Jackass et al will be given free airtime to spew allegations of racism, voter intimidation, etc.

Barbour is part of the ruling elite in Mississippi. If the fraud is exposed it will knock down a lot of powerful people. I doubt that will happen.

They know Team Barbour went way, way, way too far.

Now only if James O’Keefe was wandering around Mississippi, collecting anectodes.

The GOPe really screwed the pooch on this one! Resorting to RAT tactics has disgusted voters nationwide. Thud Cockroach is a has-been loser who should have been cut loose a long time ago. I personally believe this killed any chances of the GOP taking the Senate.

Fantastic link! You know this could get VERY expensive. Wonder if Thad can find his wallet full of what’s left of Mitch McConnell funds, to stall, thieve, hide and destroy ballots and hardrives before this blows up in his handlers face?

If McDaniels will file a formal challenge, the money will pour in.

Need to check Breitbart.com maybe. They were embedded at McDaniels headquarters on election night and surely kept their teeth engaged in this scandal. Hope so. What about McDaniels campaign website, also?

Don’t you know it’s hand to hand combat in Mississippi tonight.

Great comments following that story!

McDaniels can’t be found voting for Thad, if we the people, “Remember Mississippi”, and revolt, and MS sits on their hands against election theft and boycotts Thad on the ballot.

Also, reportedly there are 10 counties that are suspect. Should each county invalidate 1000 corrupt votes, as one county already reports, McDaniels can win by 4000 votes.

That’s not a bad margin to cover counties that have fewer than 1000 corrupt ballots.

Apart from the couple of very white counties with a couple hundred folks, I bet fraud can be found in almost all of them, even the heavy McDaniel ones like DeSoto. They need to search everywhere, because 6000 is a big number still, and they’re on the clock

I honestly think if they put 6000 fraudulent ballots in front of even a relatively good judge, the least they will get is a redo of the election (a la hattiesburg. Best case scenario the judge gives him victory outright

He cannot file the challenge until it is ‘certified’ or something, which is what he is pressuring for. Barbour and co are trying to leave too small a window between certification and the deadline so McDaniel cannot mount a challange. At least thats as I understand it, but Black Agnes and others know more than I do. I’m notin Mississippi.

It looks like he can't file a formal complaint until the election is “certified”

It seems they are trying to run out the clock, some kind of underhanded tactic for sure.

Some of it was explained either on this or one of the other two threads.

I recall hearing some time ago that the person really behind this chicanery is good ol’ Mitch Daniels because he knows Cochran will support him for Majority Leader (if the Republicans take over the Senate in November) and McDaniels may not.

In addition, rumor has it that Cochran promised to “retire for health reasons” (we all know he’s either senile or suffering from Alzheimer’s already) after 2 years, so that the GOP-e can appoint his successor.

Sounded reasonable to me then and even more so now.

If you can’t see that the Pubies and Dems are the same party, you need to move on. I refuse to vote for them. The Republicans will lose.

Seems fair.

Absentee ballots are going to come out as 40% double voting. That should push the whole election over.

You bring up a terrific point. This one election, and the nefarious tactics employed to get the incumbent re-elected will be a battering ram against the GOP from now on by the Democrats, who will trod this one particular primary election out by saying, "See who the election cheaters are? It's not us!" and the LIV will buy it by the barrel.

Talk about a Pyrrhic victory. I hope that the results are contested for fraud across all county lines.

There is a story about Republicans caught cheating which is what gave the Dems carte blanche to cheat.

Anyone remember the details on this?

“Very disturbing that election fraud is being committed by the GOP”

It answers the question why nothing is ever done about even the most obvious / blatant voter fraud. Too many on both sides of the aisle depend on it due to their addiction to power.

I’m not sure they were caught cheating. A group of McDaniels supporters found themselves locked into the Hinds County courthouse at night, supposedly after entering to observe the voting procedures. It might have been perfectly innocent, but it didn’t sound that way, and of course it wasn’t portrayed that way.

“In 1982, the Republican National Committee (“RNC”) and the Democratic National Committee (“DNC”) entered into a consent decree (the “Decree” or “Consent Decree”), which is national in scope, limiting the RNC’s ability to engage or assist in voter fraud prevention unless the RNC obtains the court’s approval in advance. The RNC appeals from a judgment of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey denying, in part, the RNC’s Motion to Vacate or Modify the Consent Decree. Although the District Court declined to vacate the Decree, it did make modifications to the Decree. The RNC argues that the District Court abused its discretion by modifying the Decree as it did and by declining to vacate the Decree. For the following reasons, we will affirm the District Court’s judgment.”

The Blaze claims
"Since 1982, that Consent Decree has been renewed every year by the original judge, Carter appointee District Judge Dickinson R. Debevoise, now 88 years old. Long retired, Debevoise comes back yearly for the sole purpose of renewing his 1982 order for another year."
