A stunning housecleaning at The View has left Whoopi Goldberg driving solo and looking in the rearview mirror at her canned co-hosts.
ABC officials said Thursday night big changes were coming to the show, and soon afterward Sherrie Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy took to social media to confirm they were leaving the morning talkfest.

Be careful, the wimminfolk might use Special Ed Schultz, Keef Oberdouche, and Phil Donahue against us men.
Wonder what Joy (less) Behar is up to these days? Didn’t she jump to Al Gores Current TV, only to have it sold to the muslims at Al Jazeera.
Your biting comments are producing involuntary laughter in Mill Valley Ca. What a vulgar and sordid vignette!
the fact that Obama won an election is proof women should not be allowed to vote.
The local workers at K-Mart, physical therapy etc. (working class white women) watch The View too. It’s on in the employee lounges. They like Whoopi.
Turns out that Ms. Shepard and Ms. McCarthy are two of the least-liked personalities on TV; after seven years at ABC, Shepard has a “Q” (likability) rating of 7 (the higher the number, the better), while McCarthy, who has been on the show for just a year, has an 8.
Incidentally, Whoopi Goldberg has a Q score of 24 (which defies explanation), but she’s far more popular than her just-fired co-hosts. By comparison, the celebrity/personality who typically tops the Q ratings index is Tom Hanks, who usually scores in the mid-50s.

So, in other words, ABC is going to re-make the show around the “most popular” host on the show, who is still disliked by most of the viewing public. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
One more thing: Bill Geddie, the departing executive producer, co-owned the show, along with Barbara Walters. I haven’t watched the show in at least 10 years, so I have no idea if the program is still produced by their production company. I’m guessing that ABC bought them out when Barbara retired, leaving Geddie as just another employee. So, with the network in charge, they can clean house, without having to worry about sharing the profits with a retired host and fired executive producer.
The View’s biggest problem is that it airs (in many markets) opposite “The Price is Right,” which has been the #1 show in daytime TV for longer than I can remember. ABC thinks it can get more women to watch Whoopi complain about Republicans and tea partiers, but the truth is, more female viewers would rather see someone win a lot of cash and prizes on TPIR.

Hey now, maury does a great public service.
I am glad I am not the only person who feels that way. Been saying it for years.
Or Chelsea. Maybe they could woo her away from NBC by paying her a livable wage and reducing her workload.
What about Janeane Garofalo? Is she available. She has the carney tattoo skank look that is so popular with women now. All hail the tattooed skanks!
The show will be filled with gay men, including Caryn, “Whoopi’s” real name.

LOL. Yeah...who's your baby's daddy? A real public service.
Oh dear, poor Barry, where will he go to have his ego stroked?
I met Whoopi at the Big Kitchen in San Diego. The owners would hire actors to work there, they were big art supporters, who were in town performing. This was 35+ years ago when Whoopi was a nobody.
She was a dishwasher and came to the counter to collect my dirty plate. She never said a word but pantomimed “are you finished ... can I take your plate”? She had that horse face smile and dreadlocks even back then.

There’s still Bill O.
No, that’s good. Thanks for all the info! :)
Heinlein had a better idea....government military service to get a franchise to vote!
Still I own property and get taxed on that and my vehicles...I don’t own 160 acres but I still pay property and real estate taxes. The taxation issue is the reason I should be able to vote. Levy state and fed taxes on me without my ability to vote on who is levying the taxes and watch how quickly I get revolutionary in spirit and action.
