It would be interesting to know what Ayers’ net worth is today. I’m betting he and his wife qualify as “one of those rich capitalist pigs.”
He was a spoiled little snot scion of very rich parents who was left free to pursue his hobby of destroying the best nation on Earth. He has succeeded almost completely.

Easily...Ayers’ father, who (reportedly) played an early role in promoting Barack Obama, was the long-time chairman of Con-Ed in Chicago. Tom Ayers was a dedicated progressive, and a friend of Frank Marshal Davis, the communist who served as young Obama’s “mentor” in Hawaii. However, that didn’t stop the elder Ayers from pulling down a six-figure annual income from the utility, and after his death, much of that wealth was passed on to his terrorist son.
Also worth remembering that Ayers’ connections helped him avoid jail time after he and wife Bernadine Dorn turned themselves in to authorities. Federal charges against them had been tossed out in 1974 (because some of the evidence against the Weather Underground was obtained using wire-tapping methods deemed illegal by the Supreme Court). Authorities in Illinois still had the option of filing state charges, but the local prosecutor (Richard M Daley, son of the former mayor and a future Chicago mayor himself), decided not to prosecute them.
The same liberal elites helped them move into the one percent. Ayers earned a master’s and doctorate in education at Columbia in four years while his wife was hired as an attorney at one of Chicago’s leading law firms—the same place where Michelle Obama got her first job.
After his graduation, Bill Ayers got a professorship at the University of Illinois in Chicago, and remained there for over 20 years as a tenured faculty member. All that despite limited experience (unless you count bomb-making and evading the authorities), and a glut of education doctorates looking for work. Meanwhile, Ms. Dorn also moved into academia and became a law professor at Northwestern.
And of course, there’s plenty of reason to believe that Bill Ayers, the “guy from the neighborhood,” was the ghost-writer of Obama’s best-selling books. Remember, Obama became a font of creativity after having to return his first book advance because he couldn’t produce anything worth publishing.
Just like Obama, Ayers never let his radical views get in the way of a comfortable lifestyle.
