MINNEAPOLIS President Obama rebuked congressional Republicans on Friday for opposing his economic initiatives, saying they should be held accountable for not doing enough for the middle class.
Mr. Obama also criticized Republicans for considering legal action over his use of executive orders, arguing that they were allowing a politically motivated vendetta to block actions that could help working people, like raising the minimum wage and extending unemployment insurance.
We cant afford to wait for Congress right now, and thats why Im going ahead and moving ahead without them wherever I can, Mr. Obama told about 3,500 people who gathered on the shores of Lake Harriet in Minneapolis to hear him speak. Now Republicans are mad at me for taking these actions. Theyre not doing anything, and then theyre mad that Im doing something.
Mr. Obama is trying to help Democratic candidates distance themselves from him, since polls show that the public holds a dim view of the presidents handling of the economy. Republicans, he said, dont do anything except block me and call me names.

What a sad excuse for a man, and President.
America’s Number One Race Card player is getting good at “chiding” the Republicans now that his smidgens are coming out of the closet. The Republicans are still good at being “chided” though.
Maybe he ought to chide Harry Reid for blocking a huge pile of economic measures passed by the House....
you know- all those economic measures that worked so well the first two years of his failed presidency....
How about chiding your buddie down there in the Senate who has how many hundreds of House bills that Reid will not even put up for a vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Matt Bristol, the man who founded Matts Bar in Minneapolis, died Thursday morning at the age of 89.
Matt invented the original “Juicy Lucy” burger, here in the Twin Cities.
Two hours after Matt passed away, Obama was at Matt’s Bar, yukking it up for the cameras.
Obama is trying to destroy the middle class
Generally, the Right is weak on economic matters because too many don't seem understand the economic value of small, limited government and the great value of wrath-creating free market economy (capitalism). Big government creates poverty and economic disaster.
There are WAY too few on the Right to articulate this. We are in the middle of a PERFECT CASE IN POINT. The Right should be HOLDING THE LEFTIES FEET TO THE FIRE regarding our paltry economic condition. We should have a such a withering offensive that all the Obamocrats can do is hide in their symbolic caves.
Chides them for not letting him send funding to terrorists and bring able to skim a little off the top and slide it into one of his overseas accounts...
It's supposed to be "wealth-creating" free-market economy.
Adam Smith's "Wealth of Nations" should be required reading in Econ 101 or 102.
0bama’s magical “economic” measures for 2014 are: “a package of both public and private sector efforts that will take a strong stand to protect pregnant working women, increase investments for research to understand the economic benefits of paid leave, expand apprenticeships for women, target resources to help more women enter higher-paying STEM and other fields, and make child care more affordable for working families.”
I think what we know is only the tip of the iceberg.
> Obama is trying to destroy the middle class
Has destroyed the middle class. My earnings are way down from what they used to be. His econmic policies killed my savings and almost all of my friend’s savings as well. The only gratification I get out of this is knowing that socialism always implodes once the middle class has been drained and can’t give anymore. We’re just about there too as a nation from a lot of the posts I’ve seen everywhere online.
true! Very few people have any savings now a days
> I think what we know is only the tip of the iceberg.
Personally I think a lot of the GOP senators turned RINO is probably from payoffs. Nothing else makes sense why they do the things they do. I also think there’s been a lot of creative skimming of the increased taxes, new regulatory fees, and green fees that’s been passed along to politicians for their cooperation though it would take a careful audit to catch it because of the extremely large number of ways it could have been accomplished.
I think you’re right. I don’t think we’ve even seen the tip of the tip of the iceberg.
