Maher Guest Draws Comparison Between Tea Party, Nazis (VIDEO)
Mediaite ^ | June 27 2014 | Josh Feldman

Bill Maher brought up the fight between the tea party and the Republicans this week over the controversial Mississippi runoff and wondered if the time is fast approaching for the tea party to officially splinter off. Author Max Brooks drew a comparison between that splintering and the rise of the Nazis in Germany in the 1920s and 30s.

On the issue of Mississippi itself and Thad Cochran winning with the help of black voters, Maher surmised that these voters obviously know “they will never elect a Democrat, so they might as well vote for the least shitty choice on the Republican side.”

He suspected that the GOP could very well split if the tea party continues to get this pissed by Republican establishment tactics. That’s when Brooks drew this comparison.

“In Germany in the 20s and 30s, there was this right-wing reactionary element that was so terrified of anarchy and communism that they said, ‘You know what? There’s a group of street thugs that are real ideologues and they’re willing to take it and they’re willing to bloody themselves, and, you know, once they get into power, we can control them.’”

Conservative radio host Andy Dean questioned the comparison, and Brooks simply said that “ideologues are only loyal to ideology” and that’s true for anyone who doesn’t “reach across the aisle” or “participate in the democratic process.”

Just for the general FYI, Max Brooks is the son of director Mel Brooks (mom was Anne Bancroft). His area of writing is not politics or policy analysis but...zombies. He’s been writing zombie apocalypse fiction since 2003. The most famous of his works is probably World War Z, which was made into a Brad Pitt movie in recent years.

So yeah, zombies.

very low info reasoning being expressed in Maher’s show.

Did the Conservative host remind Maher and the other guy that Hitler was a Leftist and in Germany it was a power battle among Leftists or did that Conservative allow Maher and his guest to continue misinforming people!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weimar_political_parties

What a Blithering idiot, there are no Parties in Weimar Germany that even seem to approach the Limited Government approach of the Tea Party, Most Parties were just different shades of Socialism and Social Liberal, but not much of jack anything in the “limited Government” Variety.

here , in ancient times , the perfect description of of people like Maher , was laid out :

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor—he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation—he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city—he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.......Cicero, 42 B.C.E.

Let them speak , their time is coming .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_German_Workers_Party

On this page it says:

Political position Far-right[3][4]

Then you click the FAR Right link:

Description: They tend to include disregard or disdain for egalitarianism, if not overt support for social inequality and social hierarchy, elements of social conservatism and opposition to most forms of liberalism and socialism.

Yeah sounds like “National Socialists” to me.... Socialist that are Anti-Socialist..... Uh huh...

Freeking Wiki, the problem is the Left has pervaded academia so long they controlled the Message that the NAZI party was a “Far Right” Party, it is not, it is a Socialist Totalitarian part and this lives off the main left/ right axis...

Another projecting puke calling me a racist. Yawn. Those who know me know better. Those who will approach me with prejudice can go suck eggs.

This big government socialist is a fan of the big government socialist in our White House, and he compares the party of limited government with the worst big government socialists in history to prove his point? Maher needs to study history - before America repeats history.

Oh, so all the info he got on Nazis comes from his father’s famous movie “The Producers”?!

Who can forget Mel thanked Hitler when his show (a good show, btw) won The Tony.

Only in leftist propaganda can you associate freedom lovers with fascism. Everything that made this country what it once was is under attack.

Well, according to Max Brooks’ father, Nazis are funny. So he must be complimenting the Tea Party.

The right wing reactionaries were National SOCIALISTS.

The street thugs were homosexuals.

The homos didn't seize power and become controlled.

Hitler led them into the streets to beat up people. Hitler convinced an old man to relinqish his power. Hitler then killed the useful idiots (homos).

End of history lesson, Mr.Brooks.
