Don’t have too much schadenfreude. A lot of us in the professoriate knew that Obamacare was a train-wreck from the very beginning — a lot of us in math, the sciences, economics, engineering and business are on the right (from “center-right” to just plain right, the latter mostly folks who grew up under Soviet-style Communism and recognized Obama for what he is from the moment he burst onto the national stage) — and could see the consequences by which our less wise colleagues in the humanities and social sciences (other the economics) are now being surprised from before the passage of the accursed law.
With all their learning, they are just now catching on to this monster?
No. They’ll claim it’s Bush’s fault.
I was at a graduation ceremony where a professor was touting Obamacare to the graduates. I think he should write every one of them an apology letter.
All I can do is laugh at them ... LOL ...
libs never think the law applies to them until it bites their wallets or jobs are lost.
People who live in ivory towers shouldn’t throw away the books of Adam Smith or Milton Friedman.
People who live in Ivory Towers should voraciously consume the books of Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, Henry Hazlitt, and Friedrich Hayek. Their analysis is profound, correct, and applicable to so much of what is happening in the world today.
Along the same line, I recommend that you take a look at David Stockman's latest writing: Sarajevo Is The Fulcrum Of Modern History: The Great War And Its Terrible Aftermath. Given your background, I believe you will find it insightful in light of current events.
I was in a faculty meeting about eight months ago, when the first price increases in all policies, hit. You should have heard the whining and complaining, and I was laughing, thinking “all you idiots voted exactly for this. Did you think you’d be exempt?”
