Did Barack Obama Wear Women's Shoes in Minnesota?
American Thinker ^ | 06/28/2014 | Jeannie DeAngelis

Barack “Yes we can” Obama has already proven that he’s big on slogans. Leaving behind FORWARD, and of course ‘Hope and Change…We Can Believe In,’ the president’s newest catchphrase is “In the shoes,” which describes loafer-lover Barack Obama attempting to reconnect with everyday Americans by metaphorically slipping into other people’s shoes.

To infuse added relatability into his plans to do future ‘in the shoes’ walkabouts, the White House is officially calling Obama’s planned encounters with the unwashed masses a “day-in-the-life” series, wherein the POTUS leaves his billionaire friends and devoted low-maintenance wife behind to venture forth onto the highways and byways of lower-class America.

I like to think of it as sort of a real-life version of that old Frank Sinatra tune, “A Day in the Life of a Fool.” Except in this case, the fool is the president.

The moccasins that Obama walked the first mile in belonged to Twin Cities mom Rebekah Erler, a woman from St. Anthony, Minnesota who supposedly came up with the idea all by herself to write the president and invite him to spend the day learning about the drudgery of everyday life.

Inspired by Rebekah’s letter, Barack Obama rose to the occasion and is now embarking on what could be described as a sort of Hillary Clinton listening tour involving feet instead of ears and footgear instead of folding chairs.

Rebekah wrote and told the president she was frustrated because “those things, those little extras that make you feel like you’re making it, being able to put money aside for your kids’ college, going on vacation… You can’t do those anymore.” And whose fault is that?

****My dad says Carter did something similar. ****

Carter would always make a point of carrying his own suits in a garment bag with a hanger over his shoulder as he boarded an airplane. A good visual, posing as the “regular guy”. Turned out the bag was always empty, just a prop.
Bottom Line: an empty bag being carried by an empty suit.

Twin Cities mom Rebekah Erler, lives in one of the highest tax states in the country in a political system run by liberal Democrats. Minnesota has long been called the land of 10 thousand taxes. She would be far better off packing up and moving to western North Dakota where due to the oil boom she could be making 3 times her salary working at Wal Mart and have half the taxes to pay.

That is so funny. Beyond funny. Hilarious but I wish it was Putin.

OK.
So it is.

Putin sees Obama through binoculars

Turns out, Twin Cities mom Rebekah Erler is new to the area. Her last gig was as a field organizer for Patty Murray out in Seattle, something most of the Mpls press still hasn’t told their readers and viewers.

See, you really *can't* make this stuff up. MM, there's a link at post 17.

Yes, Jimmy Carter did that at least once. On March 16, 1977, he flew to Hanscom Air Field in Bedford, MA and spent the night at some office manager's house in Clinton, MA - just a few towns away from me. It was part of Carter's mission to "get in touch with the common people."

After giving a town meeting, he went to this guy's house and spent the night in one of his bedrooms. A big ado was made about this at the time and I remember a newspaper picture of Carter and the family yukking it up while sitting on the living room couch. The conversation revolved around the usual "working man can't make it after all the taxes and bills are paid on these wages they are paying us."

Carter flew back to the White House the next day and taxes continued to go up and up and up. Not sure if Carter did any other "common man" visits after that.
