While Americans Lost Jobs, All Employment Growth Went to Immigrants
Frontpage Mag ^ | 06/28/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

1 million immigrants a year isn’t enough for the cheap votes/cheap labor lobby. Their Super-Amnesty is determined to legalize another 12 million illegal aliens and import millions more using amnesty as a magnet.

The current border crisis is only a small part of what will happen should Congress pass Super-Amnesty.

Advocates of Super-Amnesty claim that immigration is an engine of job growth. It’s not. Cheap labor just undercuts the middle class while cheap votes passes the social welfare bill to that same middle class.

All Employment Growth Since 2000 Went to Immigrants – Number of U.S.-born not working grew by 17 million

Government data show that since 2000 all of the net gain in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal). This is remarkable given that native-born Americans accounted for two-thirds of the growth in the total working-age population. Though there has been some recovery from the Great Recession, there were still fewer working-age natives holding a job in the first quarter of 2014 than in 2000, while the number of immigrants with a job was 5.7 million above the 2000 level.

This is just an intro to an extended report at the Center for Immigration Studies.

What we’re seeing here is the impact of the globalized open borders approach. Cheap labor drives down wages at one end while at the other end, cheap votes push social welfare to compensate for the low wages.

Americans are losing their jobs to cheap labor and losing their money to cheap votes.

The Obama economy has mainly created low wage jobs. A sizable percentage of them are basically McDonald’s jobs. It’s not surprising that immigrants vacuumed those up.

The worst impact of that was on young African-American men whose unemployment rates are terrible. But it extends beyond that. Cheap labor locks young Americans out of entry level jobs. They never move up the ladder because they can’t even reach the bottom of the ladder.

An entire generation is being locked out of the labor market by cheap labor and cheap votes.

Super-Amnesty will kill the ability of generations to come to find work. It will expand ghettos and inflict misery on tens of millions of Americans.

the unions are taking note and they are on board with amnesty. The unions are all about the dues and political clout. If they get amnesty they get increased due paying membership. Looking out for the average worker not so much.

With its current leadership The US chamber of commerce is now in charge of crony capitalism. ANYTHING they support or advocate is WRONG by its very nature

“Illegals absolutely obliterated construction jobs in New York, even road work. All Mexicans doing road work now in New York city. They say in New York city black unemployment is as high as 55% because of illegals.”

Yet, the suicidal black voters continue to vote for the rats who are decimating their population with abortion.

Then the lack of jobs drive more young blacks into crime, and they end up in prisons.

Just one little addition:

"With its current leadership The US chamber of commerce is now in charge of crony so called main street capitalism. ANYTHING they support or advocate is WRONG by its very nature."

The dirty little secret for several decades has been the support of illegals for workers and consumers by the CofC, Kiwanis, Rotary and other so called main street businesses owners.

What was interesting was back in 2009 when Obama was unconstitutionally elected, I was still living in New York city and a year later I noticed the number of blacks hitting me up for money went up like 2000%. And these weren’t bums, these were just desperate people looking for change. Probably the most telling was this black guy wearing a suit walked up to me with this little girl one day and asked me if I had a buck so he could buy his daughter a sandwich, which I gave him. It looked to me like he was pounding the pavement looking for a job. So I asked him “Hows that hope and change working out for you?” and he rolled his eyes. They know Obama used them, but like I said they’ll go and vote for a Democrap again no matter what. They have it in their mind that voting for a Republican is akin to voting for a KKK guy. Democraps have got them so enslaved mentally it’s insane.

Many of the illegal immigrants who crossed the border ten years ago and took low-level, low-wage jobs as construction workers, gardeners, and waiters from American workers, are now using their experience to start their own construction companies, landscaping businesses, and restaurants, which is hurting American businesses.

Just as it makes no sense for unions, which claim to support American workers, to promote mass immigration which destroys American jobs, it also makes no sense for business organizations like the Chamber of Commerce to promote mass immigration which hurts American businesses as immigrants rise into the business class.

It also no longer makes sense for businesses to contribute millions of campaign dollars to politicians like Eric Cantor to do their bidding in Congress, now that we know such politicians can be defeated by anti-immigration candidates like David Brat, who spent only $150,000 to win his primary by more than 10%.

Maybe we should stop blaming the Democrats alone for their foolish anti-business policies that are destroying our economy, since business leaders also continually reveal themselves as foolishly destructive of their own interests, such as by promoting mass immigration.

Our Congress operates fully now as a “Campaigning” site....all about the next election and keeping THEIR jobs.

Hence my mantra since <2008, "Vote non-incumbent" (with very few exceptions, of course).

They remind me of the low intelligent FDR white and black supporters, who believed FDR was the savior for them. They blinded supported FDR and any rats who said the mantra, I am a FDR democrat.

I’ve heard the good news too. Apparently all illegal immigrants just need amnesty because they all have will have billion dollar companies employing millions of Americans and paying huge amounts of taxes. Everyone wins...

You know as well as I this has been going on before most even knew who Obama was.

In the southwest, this has been going on for decades...It just gets worse....and worse..American middle class gets government gang banged at every turn.

In the past 20 or 25+ years, it escalated, ramped up and spread coast to coast in massive surges.

None of this just happened...None of this was an accident.

I agree it is an act of love, love of idleness and other exploration of other people’s hard earned money.

Yeah they suck but they are the jobs a good many of us had in high school and during summers.

They make a difference.

You are so right. They sold Reagan a bill of goods when they convinced him to have a one time amnesty and then the border could be secured. Reagan himself admitted that that and the promise to cut spending were things he regretted.

I want my government to do what the Constitution requires....PROTECT US FROM INVASION..... but alas...

” All Americans ask is that our southwestern border be secured first,...”

Surely the 40 year failure of the War on Drugs has taught us the fallacy of trying to secure our borders when there is money to be made. The obvious thing to do is to criminalize the hiring of illegal immigrants. Once we start locking up people who hire the wetbacks, the jobs are going to dry up and there will be no incentive for Jose to move to Dallas.

Why doesn’t the House introduce legislation to start locking people up who hire the illegals? I don’t understand it.

Reagan was a good man and a great president. However, he was sold a bill of goods re the amnesty by the so called main street merchants.
