As a U.S. Air Force veteran, I understand and appreciate the sacrifices true patriotism demands. Whether you are serving in peacetime or wartime, as a private or commander-in-chief, defending our country is a great responsibility and requires a steadfast commitment. Many of my fellow servicemen are fed up with the status quo and have expressed a desire for a true leader to step forward in 2016, a leader who is passionate about the values they have sworn to defend: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Armed with this knowledge I began an intensive search for a leader who truly embodies the American spirit. I sought an individual with a true, palpable love for the country I served and its founding principles. This person had to have moral conviction and be willing to set aside self-promotion in order to return us to the ideals our founders had in mind when they wrote the Constitution. As we approach the 2016 presidential election, only one viable candidate has emerged with the courage, audacity and principles to both lead and heal America. That man is Dr. Benjamin Carson.
Dr. Carson exemplifies the American Dream. As a boy from the streets of Detroit, raised by a single mother, Dr. Carson is a testament to what hard work can achieve in America. He embraced the power of a good education and worked hard, eventually becoming a world-renowned neurosurgeon and the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Carson has never forgotten the opportunities he was provided in his youth. He is acutely aware that without the sacrifices of the millions of men and women who gave their lives to preserve freedom and opportunity in our nation, his story would not be possible. As such, he is thankful to our military for allowing him to live his life to the fullest and have the liberty to follow his dreams and pursue happiness.
Dr. Carson stunned Americans at the National Prayer Breakfast last year, immediately proving he was the courageous leader I sought. He boldly set forth the type of nation the United States should aspire to be. He tore apart the argument for Obamacare and the progressive income tax by offering solutions to problems, refusing to be just another complaining voice. I have witnessed firsthand Dr. Carsons ability to unify and energize Americans through his promotion of commonsense policies.
Dr. Carson is a great unifier in a far too polarized political climate. He has demonstrated an ability to understand the complexities of political policy and articulate those policies to the American people. He is a man that lives according to his convictions and believes in standing up for our country by facing tyranny and injustice at home and abroad. Dr. Carson is a true leader and a man of high character. Dr. Carson possesses the same values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage shared by the men and women who serve in uniform.
Dr. Carson knows the problems faced by wounded servicemen, whether returned a week or decades ago. He knows how treatment delays can worsen their condition and sometimes result in premature death. His sense of personal honor would not allow him to sweep the ongoing problems with the Department of Veterans Affairs under a rug and not find out why the system maims and kills wounded servicemen through inability and laziness.
Dr. Carsons goal is to help America to once again become the undisputed world leader. To accomplish this goal we must defend ourselves from foreign and domestic threats in a responsible manner. Americas military strength should be used reasonably, wisely, and sparingly. The U.S. military is not the answer to every issue that arises around the globe. Rather it must be respected and used only when the vital interests of the United States are at stake.
America is an exceptional country, yet we find ourselves at a crossroads. We can rise once again and become a beacon of hope, the shining city upon a hill, but only with the right leadership. Dr. Carson is the person to lead America into future prosperity. Dr. Carson believes in us; he believes in America. Please join me in encouraging Dr. Carson to run for president. We need a man of moral conviction now more than ever.
Is there any truth to the stories that Carson is not in good health?
No one in our history has been elected to the presidency without already holding a high-level state, federal or military position. Why do backers of this gentleman think he’ll be the first?
He’s a good man, but why are so many Republicans pushing this guy? I think it’s because he is black and they want to go overboard to prove they are not racist.
No black person was ever elected either.
He has had prostate cancer in the past.
Really? I recall a man being elected about six years ago. He was a United States senator, as I recall. Proving my point. BTW, many scholars consider Mr. Obama the sixth or seventh black president, based on the “one drop rule” that once applied. Did you know that?
I truly respect Dr. Carson. But we have no idea whatsoever if he can lead an organization larger than a hospital department. And was he even in charge, or just the stud surgeon? I love the way he is taking the conservative banner up. I also fear that we are projecting an administrative ability on him that he may not possess. The best engineers make the worst managers. Just because somebody is smart, doesn’t mean they can lead. America projected its hopes onto Obama, who had no track record, and look what we are reaping.
I think Dr, Carson is light years smarter than POTUS, but I don’t want to fall into the same trap....
I do know you read more into my post then was there. Must the sarcasm symbol always be included?
All that writing and not one mention of this:
“When asked by Beck whether people should be allowed to own semi-automatic weapons, Carson replied, It depends on where you live.
I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and Im afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it, Carson explained.
If you live out in the country somewhere by yourself and want to own a semi-automatic weapon, Carson said, he had no problem with that.”
Hmmmm, wonder why that was not included......?
If he thinks Carson, or anyone else, can unify this country in this polarized environment then he's kidding himself.
I would say that Obama's momma dropped him on his head more than one time!
2A is unconditional! PERIOD!
Ben Carson helped a Rino defeat a good candidate for Senate in Oregon. He won’t get my vote. That Rino has now turned sharp left after winning the primary.
So a person should be able to own a rocket launcher? (Just being Devil’s advocate here)
Did you know that individuals owned cannon and ships equipped to fight and loaned/leased the same to the rabble who fought and defeated the British to win our independence?
Yes, we should be able to own any damned weapon we can afford.
I’ll take an A-37...
Ben Carson is not a Conservative. Ted Cruz has my vote.
How interesting to see Vernon Robinson back in “print.” I had occasionally wondered what happened to him.
He has many good ideas, but misses the mark on some very critical points. Someone has already brought up the Second Amendment.
To me, the biggest red flag was his comments on abortion. He said that pro-lifers "feel" that human life begins at conception. That's a truly foolish statement for a person who is educated in biology. The beginning of human life is a matter of scientific fact, no feelings or opinion. Differences on this point are not equally valid perspectives that can be negotiated: if someone denies that sperm and egg unite to create, right then!, a unique, living human being, he is either deeply ignorant or flat lying.
I agree with Dr. Carson that many things can be negotiated and compromised, with an eye toward the best pragmatic outcome, this is not one of them. He's trying too hard to attribute honest goodwill to the Left. One cannot negotiate with people who deny the existence of an objective reality. One cannot even sit down in a civilized fashion and identify differences with people who are driven into a frothing frenzy by the very contention that there IS objective reality.
The only GOP nominee who didn’t hold high office was Wendell Wilkie in 1940.
And Publisher Frank Knox in 1936, I believe, was our only Vice Presidential nominee who hadn’t held high office (he was Navy Secretary after the election).
I think Carson is getting so much attention because of the scarcity of quality GOP candidates. It makes more sense to make him HHS Secretary.
We have a genius and a firebrand in Ted Cruz and a lady who has proven she’s on our side in Sarah Palin.
