Liberal newspaper rebukes Obama, calls for IRS special prosecutor

President Obama made headlines in Minneapolis on Thursday, rolling out his “phony scandal” rhetoric to address the cascade of questionable acts now receiving public outrage, and not just from Republicans.

In a stunning rebuke, the dominant newspaper in the state of Minnesota, the very left-wing and politically correct Star-Tribune of Minneapolis has editorialized a demand for a special prosecutor:

The old caution against ascribing to malice what can be explained by incompetence is worth keeping in mind when evaluating a high-profile blunder in either the private or public sector, such as the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups for extra scrutiny.

Interesting development. The DOJ has to call for the Special Prosecutor, but how does the actual person get assigned? Can they just assign some Dem ringer?

The AG makes the selection...unless he recuses himself (as Ashcroft did, e.g., in the appoint of Fitzgerald).

Holder would, of course, appoint a crony who could be counted upon to see, hear nor speak no evil...and run out the clock.

Literally, I laughed out loud when I read your post.

It's shocking, how hilarious a juxtaposition of Ethics and Government has become.

Yes, but they’ll be shilling for Hillary. That’s like having your drunk Uncle Bill tell you he’s giving up gin.....to start drinking vodka.

It’s all Democrat politicians.

ref: “holder recusing himself”

i’m sure you didn’t laugh any louder at my post than i did at yours.

nothing will really change and we won’t be a true constitutional republic again until we cuff the clowns and close down the circus.

Commissioner! This challenge must not go unpunished. Begin auditing Star-Tribune owners, editorial board members and their closest relatives immediately!

The MSM will attack any special prosecutor going after Democrats - like they did with Ken Star. The 'story' will be about the prosecutor... NOT about the corruption.

MSM control also provides cover for Democrat running in the midterms... Democrats can say they don't want to comment on the process until it's completed. That shuts down discussion... The press will" 'report' it's all so confusing... and 'everyone does it' and besides it's costing 40 million dollars"... or something like that. They'll have no interest in this beyond protecting democrats.

Don't feel encouraged....
