The only reason for the Federal Government is to keep us safe, that is not happening. The only job of the President is to faithfully execute the laws and uphold the Constitution, that is not happening. Jefferson stated we might have to start over...we are there. Time for a new government.
Not so much safe as provide for the common defense. You can't defend a country if the borders mean nothing.

Jefferson said the tree of Liberty would have to be watered from time to time with the blood of tyrants. Such, literally or metaphorically, would remind those in Government service who the boss is (The People).
The Constitution is a perfectly workable framework, with the exception of the 17th Amendment, which effectively stripped the States of their rights and Congressional representation as political entities. A return to the Constitution would be eminently preferable to reinventing the wheel.
While the Constitution has been ignored for a while, and increasingly so, those doing that need to be taken to task before they finish impoverishing this country.
