Leader of Mississippi College Republicans Resigns to Join Democrats
The Daily Caller ^ | June 30, 2014 | Alex Pappas

The leader of the Mississippi Federation of College Republicans announced Monday morning that he is resigning as chairman of the state organization — and has plans to become a Democrat now.

“I am leaving my position in the organization and have begun to speak to members of the Mississippi Democratic Party and will be changing my party affiliation to Democrat in the next few days,” Chairman Evan Alvarez said in a statement to Mississippi’s Clarion-Ledger newspaper.

Alvarez’s resignation immediately drew a rebuke from the leader of the College Republican National Committee (CRNC), who told The Daily Caller on Monday that it was “based on self-interest, not principle.”

“As chair of the CRNC, some would expect I would be disappointed by today’s news. I am not,” College Republican National Committee Chairwoman Alex Smith told TheDC. “This defection was based on self-interest, not principle.”

Added Smith: “Mr. Alvarez will feel increasingly lonely in a party that is hemorrhaging young voters because of President Obama’s and Democrats’ extreme left wing agenda that is crippling our generation.”

There are already calls for state employees who have been open supporters of McDaniel to be fired...

I’m not kidding either.

"Cochran was a dem. As was Trent Lott"

The entire south used to be democrat. But there was LBJ and his civil and voting rights acts followed Nixon's southern strategy to bring the southern populist democrats into the GOP.

Texas Gov Rick Perry was a democrat. He didn't shift til 1990.

Texas lagged behind the rest of the south in shifting to the GOP. The first attempt at making the shift was from GHW Bush but the Texas populists detested him because he was a carpetbagging northern republican elitist.

Now he can vote for Cochran in good conscience.

Just as I suspected. This guy was always a Republicrat.

Now gone ballistic because McDaniels and conservatives intend to upset Cochran in November EXACTLY in the same manner as was done to them, the boy kid evaporates.

The Haley Barbour state machine and the DC Establishment money PAC have been exposed.

Voters intend to Remember Mississippi both locally and from coast to coast.

I live in a state with open primaries as well.

I am seriously thinking of just voting in the democrat primary and consistently picking the candidate they want least. My vote would probably carry just as much weight voting that way than it currently does with the republicans.

The first thing I always ask a YR is what branch of the military he is serving in.

Well, well, well, the Cochroach commies are crawling out of the woodwork. I hope they all go back to the godless democrat party and take their vile, sleazy campaign tactics with them.

So this embedded democrat party agent goes back home, and helps the GOPe by broadcasting all of Cochroach’s robo call lies making them seem true. Why aren’t they calling for the firing of the drunken excuse maker and complicit poll workers for corrupt voting practices?

Admiral Denton— what an honourable, decent man. A hero, who blinked his eyes in Morse Code to alert our intel that the N. Vietnamese/Cong were torturing our men in Hanoi Hilton, while the ho hanoi jane was treating with the enemy.
And beyond that he was a good senator. The old dem machine works the black vote on handouts, and castigates the Republicans as “black loving” (sic) from the reconstruction days. No doubt Dentons catholicism in the whisper campaign. Alabama is a lot of things. And these tactics all to shave the margin. Shelby barely won, and was a dem who “converted”.
My point in this is that the back and forth conversions are suspect if they include policy that is not conservative. Some are true epiphanies.

All this party games, with good men harmed. RIP Admiral Denton, who was married for 61 years inclusive of his imprisonment, torture during which later damaged his heart and its failure at 89. Deo Vindice.

Maybe took the database with him for his log cabin dimocrat pals to pay him for. Let’s ask Haley Barbour about the wisdom of this. Would we could ask Lee Atwater.

Circular firing squad not needed. The guy who suicided was a damn shame and needed some friends to help him survive. Ugly people these apparatchiks on the federal teat.

True that. But Texans rallied to what they have always been— a Republic, which has the ability to actually leave the US, since the democrats have forgotten that the US IS a Republic.

When I was at Bama, I joined the College Republicans at the behest of a friend who wanted to give The Machine a run for its money. He and some others signed up a whole lot of like minded students, and we all showed up the night the group was set to vote for the new leadership. We clearly had the numbers to defeat the Greek jerks who thought it was their birth right or something. Anywho, right before our very eyes, they took the ballot box and the membership book and went to another room where they stuffed the ballot box with ballots they filled out on behalf of all their missing Greek members. The Machine candidate won. It was very eye opening. Even more eye opening was a year later when that president of the College Republicans at the University of Alabama went to join the staff of some Democrat politician a year later.

Boy, is he stuck on stupid? He thinks the dems are the party to belong to. WOW. I am re-reading Out of the Ashes, America Reborn by Johnstone. It tells about each book and just what General Ben Raines believes. I have never come across an author like Johnstone and series like this. Everyone should read all of them.
