WASHINGTON As news of the murders of Israeli teenagers Gil-ad Shaar, Naftali Frankel and Eyal Yifrach reached Washington in the early afternoon Monday, lawmakers voiced unequivocal condemnation of the killings, while two members of Congress, on a visit to Jerusalem, issued a bipartisan call for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to dissolve the unity agreement with Hamas
The news of the murder of these three Israeli teenagers Naftali Fraenkel, Gil-ad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach is simply devastating. We all had so much hope that this story would not end this way, Secretary John Kerry wrote in a statement Monday evening. As a father, there are no words to express such a horrific loss that shakes all people of conscience. We pray for these three boys and their families, and together we grieve with all the people of Israel. Knowing that Naftali was also an American citizen makes this an especially heavy blow not just to Israel, but to the United States.
We condemn this despicable terrorist act in the strongest possible terms, Kerry added. The killing of innocent youths is an outrage beyond any understanding or rationale, and the perpetrators must be brought to justice. This is a time for all to work towards that goal without destabilizing the situation.
Others, however, saw the murders as the last evidence that the Palestinian unity government must be dissolved.
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, and Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL), Ranking Member of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee issued a statement calling on Abbas to voluntarily dissolve the unity agreement that he entered with Hamas in April if it is proven that Hamas was behind the murders.

physician .. heal thyself !
Our Congress is very supportive of Israel - across both sides of the aisle. When they talk about DISSOLVING the unity pact, that means the Palestinian Authority needs to sever ties with an identified and specially labelled “terrorist group”. That’s what they are talking about.
And the USA needs to give Israel all the support it can!
Does not seem honest.
Kerry and Clinton gave them the money
and the directive to KILL JEWS for the State Dept.
and Huma’s family.
You may be referring to the US giving money to the Palestinian Authority, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lobbied members of Congress to do exactly that. Netanyahu wants the money to keep flowing to the PA so that Israeli soldiers don’t have to step in to take care of civilian law and order, which is what the PA is doing now.

See post #5 ...
There's no other reason for such allegiance.
(Though we have 'supported' Israel all these years ... can we say .. at this point in history .. we are blessed?)
I know we're supposed to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, but I believe there can be no peace for Israel unless and until she repents and converts (to accepting Yeshua as Messiah)
Yeah, I saw it. Thanks for posting, Star Traveler.
If you want to bring the Bible into it that’s fine. Then we can mention the fact that there will be NO PEACE until the Messiah of Israel returns to earth and sets up his ONE-WORLD GOVERNMENT with the headquarters in Jerusalem.
When the Bible says “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” it’s saying ... “Pray for the Messiah to return and set up his Kingdom!”
There is no lasting peace until then. And so ... in the meantime, we keep supporting Israel in her survival.
I NEVER hear of any other nation giving money to a different nation.
Does China or Russia or Germany give billions to Israel ?
Do other civilized and/or industrialized nations give money to another nation for domestic use ?
Or do other nations give only military hardware ?
If America did not tax it's citizens for one week, and stopped giving our money (labor .. time) away to a nation that never seems to advance ... (specifically not Israel, but we give money away to just about everybody else who get/go nowhere) .. I wonder what we'd look like
Yes, other nations do that ... The ones with more money, anyway ... :-) ...
The European Union has a larger foreign aid budget than the US.
US aid to Israel is largely pork for American companies.
