President Barack Obama's abrupt shift from seeking immigration legislation to pursuing a go-it-alone executive strategy raises expectations among immigration advocates that Obama may have trouble satisfying while setting up a clash with House Republicans who've already threatened to sue him.
Limited in his powers to ease deportations and under pressure to crack down on a tide of Central American children entering the U.S. without their parents, Obama has only so many options to tackle an immigration conundrum complicated by a midterm election that could cost him Democratic control of the Senate.
Obama on Monday blamed Republican resistance for the demise of sweeping immigration legislation and vowed to bypass Congress to patch up the system. "If Congress will not do their job, at least we can do ours," Obama said.
But seeking to slow deportations while simultaneously stemming the flow of young people across the U.S. Southern border presents Obama with a knotty set of policy choices.

Yes, right now he is making a pretense at following the law: for example, he directed Holder and Johnson to look for ways that he could have his will using executive action.
By abandoning this pretense, he will make statements similar to, This law is unjust, the Supreme Court is corrupt, and Congress is obstructionist. Therefore, I am ordering ______ to do the right thing.
That will bring some tears to Boehner's eyes, but, otherwise, the media will cheer. The left wing religions will cheer. Congress will sit on their hands. And the courts will throw out any lawsuits as either not demonstrating any damage or having no standing.

The Republican Presidential Candidate that I vote for in 2016 had better have a sworn promise that he will enforce existing immigration laws, vigilantly defend our borders, and nullify every single Executive Order Obama ever signed (including the ones he’s going to implement this summer).

The enemy of the good is the perfect.
Neither McCain nor Romney got us into this mess. People who stayed on the sidelines did (especially 2012).
Always vote for the most conservative candidate, even if he/she does not meet the purity test (which Reagan would have failed).

While McCain and Mittens didn’t single-handedly get us where we are, the GOP establishment machine that selects those kind did. They were, are, the epitome of the GOPe ideal, and that ideal is poised once again to put forth another loser. How can your warrior fight the fight when he puts down the sword even before the battle is joined?
There is nothing about conservatism that says one must compromise principles for fruitless expediency, and expediency that cannot be proven worthwhile dating back decades. It got us No Child Left Behind, Prescription Medicare, DHS, TSA [very big threats to our freedom], and now is prepared to fully embrace amnesty, at least whatever their code word is for that now.

My franchise was bought with the blood of Americans. It is far to valuable to me to be wasted on voting for “the lesser of 2 evils” or for anyone that will is not capable of doing the job and honoring the Constitution and the people. Many try to tell you it is unpatriotic not to vote. I say bullshit. It is unpatriotic to vote for someone you know is wrong for the office just because you want an R there instead of a D. It is unpatriotic to vote for a person just because of their skin color or their sex. Being a sheep is not Patriotic. Our Founders were not sheep. The people that wrote the Constitution were not sheep.
Purity test. Ha. How about the corruption test? Should we vote for the least corrupt? I’m not listening to this anymore. The GOP hates conservatives more than the Rats do.

I’m not voting for Hillary. Have you not seen what’s happened by voting the lesser of two evils? Now we have NO representation in DC. We haven’t for over 20 years.
You seem JUST LIKE these GOPe statists we talk about so much here.
First, it’s the tired and misused argument of the lesser of two evils, then when that gets shot down, it’s on to caterwauling about “Hillary thanks you”, “you’re voting Democrat”, or whatever. Then when that doesn’t work some of you move onto the epithets. I’ve seen it time and time again here.
Principles are a vastly different thing from expediency and settling. Principles, backed up by fighting for them, founded this country. Expediency of the lesser of two evils got us McCain and Mittens which begat Obama.
