Megyn Kelly to Bill Ayers: Sounds like bin Laden
Politico ^ | July 1, 2014 | SARAH SMITH

Posted on 07/01/2014 6:25:30 AM PDT by Second Amendment First

Fox News host Megyn Kelly had a heated interview with former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers about his past actions as part of the radical group.

“You sound like — with respect — Osama bin Laden,” Kelly said to Ayers, cutting him off as he tried to justify the Weather Underground’s violent actions by pointing out what he said was violence committed by the government.

Kelly grilled Ayers, who rose to national prominence during the 2008 presidential campaign when questions arose about his contact with Barack Obama, on the activities she linked to the Weather Underground during the 1960s and 1970s, some of which — like the killing of a San Francisco policeman — Ayers fiercely denied had anything to do with the Weather Underground.

“I think Bowe Bergdahl, if he deserted, is a hero,” Ayers said, likening it to those who fled to Canada during the Vietnam War. “I think throughout history we should build monuments to the unknown deserters.”

Ayers maintained that most of the group’s activities centered around property destruction — illegal, but not deadly.

“It’s not about legality,” Kelly said. “You could have murdered somebody with those bombs.”

“The people who were conducting the war in Vietnam actually murdered people,” Ayers began.

Kelly cut him off.

“The answer is to make yourself a murderer as well?” she asked.

The Weathermen were responsible for four deaths. Weathermen Cathy Wilkerson and Susan Saxe were part of the gang that shot Boston policeman Walter Schroeder in the back during a bank robbery in Brighton (a section of Boston) Massachusetts in 1970. He died after attempts to save him that included giving him 77 pints of blood (source -Harvard Crimson). They also murdered Brinks guard Peter Paige, police officers Edward O’Grady and Waverly Brown in Nanuet, NY in 1981. Paige was gunned down with automatic weapons as he emerged from a bank carrying the cash. O’Grady and Brown were killed with a barrage of automatic weapon fire after they pulled over the getaway vehicle containing three Weathermen, Chris Dobbs, Samuel Brown and Judith Alice Clark.

to my knowledge she's never actually blown anyone up.

She sat on an anti-aircraft gun in North Viet Nam. One picture she has quite exaggerated facial expression that I take that she was on the gun when it was fired. Whether she fired the gun herself or was sitting there and a Vietnamese fired the gun makes no difference to me. She is guilty of association with the enemy North Vietnam and should be tried for treason just like John Kerry.

During Government Security hearings on March 31, 1970, U.S. Senator Marlow Cook asked Chicago gang leader Mike Soto to offer his assessment of Bernadine Dohrn, whose whereabouts were unknown. Soto replied: "I have talked to her and she is a violent maniac, because when I talked to her she said 'let's pick up arms, let's blow up this country apart until we take over.'"

In April 1970, federal prosecutors charged Ayers and Dohrn, among others, with having incited the riots in Chicago eight months earlier. In June 1970, a federal grand jury indicted the couple and 12 others for conspiracy to bomb and kill civilians. At that point, Ayers and Dohrn, facing a lengthy trial and possible incarceration, went underground and would evade law-enforement authorities for the next decade. Weatherman thenceforth became known as the Weather Underground Organization.

In May 1970 Dohrn made a tape recording of a "Declaration of a State of War" on behalf of WUO, and sent a transcript of the tape to the New York Times. On October 14, 1970, Dohrn's name was added to the FBI's list of the 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and remained there until December 1973.

During her time underground (which spanned most of the 1970s), Dohrn periodically issued additional “war communiqués” to the public at large. These communiqués commonly called for white Americans to shed their “white skin privilege” and launch a violent race war on behalf of Third World People.

In 1974 Dohrn co-authored—along with Bill Ayers, Jeff Jones, and Celia Sojourn—a book titled Prairie Fire: The Politics of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialism. This book contained the following statements:

(My note: These statements seem very much like the ideology displayed by Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett and Eric Holder. Except that Dohrn and Ayers believed in the violent approach of Mao, Che and Fidel, while Obama, Jarrett and Holder are students of the subversive Alinsky approach.)

"We are a guerrilla organization. We are communist women and men ... deeply affected by the historic events of our time in the struggle against U.S. imperialism."

"Our intention is to disrupt the empire, to incapacitate it, to put pressure on the cracks, to make it hard to carry out its bloody functioning against the people of the world, to join the world struggle, to attack from the inside."

"The only path to the final defeat of imperialism and the building of socialism is revolutionary war."

"Revolutionary war will be complicated and protracted. It includes mass struggle and clandestine struggle, peaceful and violent, political and economic, cultural and military, where all forms are developed in harmony with the armed struggle."

"Without mass struggle there can be no revolution. Without armed struggle there can be no victory."

"We need a revolutionary communist party in order to lead the struggle, give coherence and direction to the fight, seize power and build the new society."

"Our job is to tap the discontent seething in many sectors of the population, to find allies everywhere people are hungry or angry, to mobilize poor and working people against imperialism."

"Socialism is the total opposite of capitalism/imperialism. It is the rejection of empire and white supremacy. Socialism is the violent overthrow of the bourgeoisie, the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and the eradication of the social system based on profit."

She is. Responsible for tge deaths and for the torture of our military, prisoners of the Viet Namese army

I know people try to reason out that this is not bad, or tgat her involvement is a rumour or it was ... Whatever, I’m not going to entertain any of that as it comes in. She gets a pass as she hid in plain sight in Hollywood and also gave a snide remark people feel the need to categorize as an apology

But I do comment when people bring her in and compare her favorably

Please find out what happened at the Hanoi Hilton

And please review what kind of an offense it is to aid and abet the enemy and to travel to the enemy during wartime in order to give comfort and aid to the enemy. And consider what kind of morale effect it is to have the country excuse her and not try her as they would a non celebrity for doing the same

I do wish we could give our former POWs their due and recognitioorvtobat least stop exalting this horrible woman

I will not entertain the idea of comparing these two with anyone who has not donecascsuggested and then spent time listening to one or any of these guys who have patiently endured her being out of jail where she belongs

“I think he agreed to the interview because he is arrogant enough to think he can outsmart Kelly.”

Bingo! In the end, it is ego that drives all of these people. Ayers, and many like him, gravitate to radicalism because it is a venue in which they can assume the most importance. Had he gone into business, or medicine, or anything else, he just be another guy doing the job. Few achieve celebrity in most professions. If you’re willing to be a radical, however, you can be a rock star.
