Russia is involved in a historic effort to defend its civilization, President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday, vowing to protect the interests of the Russian community abroad as violence again escalated in Ukraine.

Hours after Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko ended a ceasefire and renewed his assault against pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine’s southeast, Putin compared Ukraine to Iraq, Syria and Libya and said that he could not stand by as a nation with close historical ties to Russia was taken over by people he dismissed as “neo-Nazis.”

I was reading an article the other day by a Buddhist Mongol in Russia who was fired from his university for writing a paper that contradicted soviet “history” about the conquest of his homeland. The Russkies say it was a peaceful take over. History says it was your standard violent communist take over. The Kremlin called him a “Nazi” too. That literally appears to be their go-to label for anybody who resists them. But what’s weird about it is that Putin is in bed with Neo-Nazis in his own country, such as Alexandr Dugin, and with them in other countries, such as the Jobbik party in Hungary, which they are assisting with organizational and other support.

OK,Vlad...fair enough. You station your troops *at the border* so those murderous Ukrainians...the ones trying to align themselves with that murderous European Union..don't enter Soviet territory. Also, make repeated public announcement encouraging any Soviet citizens in the country to return home and demand that the Ukrainians allow this to happen.

But then that's not what you have in mind,is it? That's not *at all* in keeping with your decades of KGB training,is it?
