Cochran campaign denies vote-buying reports
Clarion Ledger | July 1, 2014 | By Geoff Pender

Can't post Gannett material per their copyright complaint, but according to this article, it appears that the Cochran campaign is claiming they were only paying the get out the vote workers (in cash) and were not directly buying votes.

No reason to beg off. Those texts are legal cover for GOTV activities.
++++
I didn’t read the texts very carefully but I do recall a reference to the envelopes. How does that fit into a GOTV program?

Offer a whistleblowers bounty. Its used all the time. In fact, I think Gohmert is offering one right now for the IRS

Well, it’s pretty damn sick that a so-called Republican Senator would hire democrat workers to get out the democrat vote in a REPUBLICAN primary! What a slimy POS this corrupt, pork-loving cochroach is.

And the GOP for going along with it? FreepU GOPe! Slimy RINO bastards!! They deserve to freaking lose. Who would want these corrupt bastards in office? Cochran is nothing but a senile puppet of the GOPe RINO machine anyway. Screw them.

- GOPe gets in bed with Democrats to smear a conservative and win a primary.

- Same Democrats now turn on the GOPe winner that paid them and destroy him using an all too willing media to help.

- Democrat wins the seat in the general election.

- Smooth move Messrs Rove and Barbour.

True the Vote just filed suit against MS SOS and Gov. They’ve for an injunction to stop them from taking any action on the June 24 runoff.

I found the basis for another theory. The GOTV volunteers for a campaign are supposed to get the name and address of every person with whom they speak while they (the volunteers) are out canvassing door-to-door.

The campaign staffer responsible for GOTV activities then enters those names/addresses in the Campaign’s database(s) of supporters.

What we need to know is whether or not The Reverend collected those names because if he did’t collect the names, that might explain why the campaign refused to pay him for his canvassing activities.

JR/Syncro - Do either of you feel like going to MS with me for some FR-style investigation? I might could talk pen into going with us.

If he has a brick and mortar Church, he has the names and addresses of his congregation. He could supply those.

Or maybe he has a virtual church, but still the names and addresses of his virtual congregation.

Well yeah.

Let’s hope the evidence overwhelms their lies.

IOW the story has legs because he was scared enough to respond.

It also, between the lines, confirms the delay tactics Cochran is using to avoid a challenge.

Prolly so, but the proof has to stand up in a court of law or in front of an election judge with the authority to put the brakes on certifying the election. It will be much harder to get a new runoff election after the MS SOS has signed off on the results.

See post 33. There is no need to dismiss those texts. They provide near perfect legal cover for GOTV claims.

Yup, those texts actually help Cochran here. They provide legal cover (GOTV) for any under the table activities (vote-buying) that were going on. And, as of now, they are also the only actual evidence against Cochran's campaign. When the only evidence also gives cover, it's going to be very tough to prove wrongdoing.

McDaniel won’t be able to challenge the results until the SOS certifies the results. Why isn’t the SOS certifying the results?

I saw someplace that an independent conservative law firm has already filed some kind of lawsuit over this.

I found this on the www, you might want to email and find out what they would want us to do for them, and report back.

McDaniel asked those wanted to get involved in his fight to email their name, city, phone number and email address to mcdanielvolunteer@tynerlawfirm.com.

“Our team will then direct you on what you can do to help us in this battle to ensure the integrity of our election process here in Mississippi,” it was stated in an email.

Also on Facebook there is a Write in McDaniel page, might be worth taking a look.

Because the GOPe needs time to neutralize further whistle-blowers and hide their machine.
