President Obama vowed to double down on his use of executive action Tuesday, a move that some constitutional experts say spurns the intent of the Founding Fathers to govern by consensus, however difficult.
Facing litigation from House Republicans over his repeated use of executive orders to bypass Congress, Mr. Obama nevertheless urged his Cabinet members to be creative in looking for more ways for him to exercise his presidential power unilaterally.
If Congress cant act on core issues that would actually make a difference in helping middle-class families get ahead, then were going to have to be creative about how we can make real progress, Mr. Obama said.
House Republicans have thwarted much of Mr. Obamas agenda, including a push to raise the minimum wage nationwide. But constitutional scholars say the presidents go-it-alone strategy is ignoring some basic premises of the governments founding its supposed to be difficult to pass laws, and inaction is a valid consequence of a failure to compromise.
The Framers knew that forging national policy, with all the divisions within the political parties, would be hard to do, and there would need to be a series of deliberations and compromises, said Lou Fisher, a specialist on the separation of powers who worked more than 40 years at the Library of Congress. Thats something that Obama and his team dont do. The instinct to act unilaterally shows a lack of respect for the political process and a lack of ability to participate in it.

Traitors. Will Thad Cochran be doing anything or is he too busy shredding voter rolls?
You must give in to my every whim and allow me to rule as a dictator. If you refuse, I shall have no other choice than to rule as a dictator.
I got news for you Barry, the Republican congress is doing EXACTLY what it was elected to do- opposing you.
Yeah, get creative. Like importing millions of illegals to help the middle class “get ahead” and reduce income inequity. [/s]
Washington needs to be cleansed with industrial solvents.
"Listen, I love my colleagues in the state legislature but I think [Illinois citizens] should be voting, not state legislatures. I have a little understanding about our constitution because I teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago and I understand thats how the constitution was framed. It also prohibited anyone but white, male property owners from voting. Thats why we had amendments. Its a funny way to empower people to take their vote away."
-- Barack Obama, Third llinois U.S. Senate Debate, Oct 21, 2004
Gosh, you mean Obama actually does the EXACT OPPOSITE of his stated position sometimes? Someone explain this to the anti-17th amendment crowd claiming "If it's such a bad idea to repeal it, why is Obama strongly against repeal?"
Evidence that the turd is not sufficiently deterred.
At this point, I believe that he actually wants the House to impeach him. He knows that the Senate would never convict. He could use it as a big ‘ol stick to whip up the democrat base...
Annul 2008 & 2012 and Depose
Watching Jonathan Turley and Brit Hume on Megyns show and Turley is calling this a Constitutional Crisis. Hume, on the other hand, is blathering the lefts mantra. What happened to Brit?
Probably true. The point is to tie up his people dealing with the allegations.
And rile up the people in the cities...
Just who do these dolt democrats like Peelosi, think is going to hire these illiterate, non-English speaking, disease ridden people. No one that runs a business will hire them.
Typical Socialist to Dictator move. I know what’s best for all, even though that legislative body and courts say no. Therefore, I will do what the people need and will disband Congress and the court system.
It’s not too far fetched as Obama comes closer and closer to it.
Obama wants his cabinet to get creative in finding ways around the law and the constitution. Yet our representatives in the house and senate cannot seem to come up with any way to impeach this sob ?
