Senate Race Conference Spins Into Complete Disaster After Question About 'Harvesting Black Votes'
Business Insider ^ | 07/02/2014 | Brett LoGiurato

A Thad Cochran campaign call Wednesday afternoon tumbled into disaster when a questioner asked why the Cochran campaign was "harvesting black people" for votes. The call was held to push back against claims from the campaign of Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, Cochran's intra-party challenger who contends he won last week's Republican primary runoff election illegitimately by courting the votes of Democrats and African-Americans.

But the call was quickly hijacked by callers who later referred to themselves as supporters of McDaniel. One repeatedly interrupted Cochran campaign adviser Austin Barbour.

"Quick question," said the caller, who did not identify himself. "Since black people harvested cotton, why is it OK to harvest their votes? Why is it OK to harvest the votes of black people?"

After Barbour largely ignored the question, the questioner asked again: "If black people were harvesting cotton, why do you think it's OK to harvest their votes?"

This finally triggered a response from Barbour.

"Sir, I don't know where you're calling from, but I'm happy to address any question, no matter the lunacy of it," Barbour said.

But the questioner continued to press, insistent on derailing the call.

"Why did you use black people? Why did you use black people to try to get Cochran elected when they're not even Republicans? You're treating them as if they're just idiots, that they'll just vote for Cochran just because they're black. Why did you harvest black votes?"

This was when Barbour decided to end the call — or at least end his participation.

Yeah. It seems there wasn’t enough harvesting to do on that Democratic Plantion.

Good thing the Republican Plantaion has plenty of room for harvesting.

SOURCE: US DEPARTMENT OF LABOR

Foreign-born workers comprised a large share of the hired crop labor force

Foreign-born workers may be authorized to work in the United States under various visa categories. While employment eligibility, like all information obtained in the NAWS, is self reported, the NAWS seeks to determine whether foreign-born respondents are authorized to work in the United States by asking a series of related questions that produces a picture of their eligibility status. The questions address the foreign-born worker's current status (citizen, legal permanent resident, border crossing-card holder, applicant for residency, temporary visa holder, or unauthorized) and, when applicable, the date and program under which the individual applied for legal status. The responses to these questions are examined to determine whether the interviewee is eligible to work in the United States. Each foreign-born respondent is also directly asked if he/she has authorization to work in the United States.

“How many black people do any sort of farm work anymore???”

Probably very few unless they own the farm or ranch.

Barbour is a caricature of every slick talking hustler used car salesman stereotype. He used his chairmanship power with the RNC to pull a slick con job giving fellow huckster, Terry McAuliffe hundreds of millions to bui;ld an electric car plant and sacm the green money fund. -—McAuliffe has yet to make a marketable car, but he’s livin’ high on the hog. Barbour probably got a good kickback from the deal, too.

Not only used, but those who had also voted in the Democrat primary, were bribed to commit election fraud.

I know this was just a primary, but if some of them decide to continue voting Republican in the general election, that would be pretty cool. Maybe some of them will decide to do that.
