World leaders were unanimous Wednesday in condemning the killing of Mohammad Abu Khdeir, a 16-year-old Palestinian who was most likely kidnapped and murdered in revenge for the death of three Israeli teens that were abducted and recently found dead in the West Bank.
In a series of posts on Twitter, National Security Adviser Susan Rice said the US is paying close attention to the investigation into the death of 17-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir. She also offered condolences to his family and the Palestinian people.
US Secretary of State John Kerry also condemned the murder, calling the act "sickening" and saying, "There are no words to convey adequately our condolences to the Palestinian people.
"Those who undertake acts of vengeance only destabilize an already explosive and emotional situation. The world has too often learned the hard way that violence only leads to more violence and at this tense and dangerous moment, all parties must to everything in their power to protect the innocent and act with reasonableness and restraint, not recrimination and retribution."

As a father, I cannot imagine the indescribable pain that the parents of these teenage boys are experiencing. From the outset, I have offered our full support to Israel and the Palestinian Authority to find the perpetrators of this crime and bring them to justice, and I encourage Israel and the Palestinian Authority to continue working together in that effort. I also urge all parties to refrain from steps that could further destabilize the situation. As the Israeli people deal with this tragedy, they have the full support and friendship of the United States.”
Killing a fellow Muslim is “heinous”, while killing Jews (even an American citizen, although Obama doesn’t mention that detail) is merely “senseless”. Killing a Muslim draws a one-sided rebuke, while just killing Jews draws a balanced calls for both sides to work together.
Jeez, I thought it must be satire.
Bull crap. The heinous was that more were killed. Maybe that is what they meant.
A great many mostly liberal Jews were against the creation of Israel. The reasons were, but not limited to: * Rejection of the religion of Judaism and its tenets * The fear of Jews in America would be attacked for Israel * The reformed Jewish movement in America opposed the creation of Isreal and fought it. Many are resentful of Israel to this day.
* The disassociation of non-affiliated Jews, who are the majority of American Jews towards Israel. They do not accept the premise for its existence and have been heavily propagandized my world media. *
Political ideology trumps religion when the two conflict.
