funny you say that...I’m a St John’s grad, went through school on a track scholarship during the recent heyday of St John’s basketball with Lou Carnesecca and Chris Mullen....we used to be known as the Redmen and the mascot was some guy running around in full indian headress...it was great...
when the PC police hit the scene in the 90’s with Clinton they changed the mascot to some guy wearing a red tuxedo...they finally changed the name from Redmen to Redstorm and St John’s basketball has sucked ever since never mind they had to drop the mens track program due to title nine...
