The support and criticism of a Texas university cheerleader who features her big game hunting adventures on Facebook has grown within the week. She recently has been responding to haters with information about how she says killing some of these creatures actually helps their species, local villages and the economy as a whole.

I take it...you aren't a hunter?

Do you fish?

What she says does not matter. The self-reliant-hating, gun-hating, the-state-will-feed-you-why-do-you-hunt Left will never, NEVER be appeased. Their goal is to destroy all alternatives and all opposition to the almighty State.

I will not comply. D.O.L. Thus always to tyrants.

The only places where Rhino populations are growing is where they can be legally hunted. That said, the trophy fee can be as high as 1/2 a million.

“Traveling halfway around the world to shoot some of the world’s most magnificent, and threatened animals is shameful,” Nicole Paquette, vice president for wildlife protection, said in a statement. ”Many of the species that Ms. Jones has killed face declining populations due to loss of habitat and poaching. Amidst this crisis, trophy hunting only adds to the threats to the survival of these iconic species and is nothing more than a thrill kill. Our affiliate, Humane Society International, works in the field to protect wildlife and prevent human-wildlife conflicts in Africa and around the world. Rather than pose for social media with these rare species, lying lifeless, Ms. Jones should support true conservation efforts to combat poaching and protect both animals and communities.”

This is willful ignorance based purely on emotion. Ms. Jones is correct. Hunting places value on animals and habitat that would otherwise not exist. This is the best and only proven protection.

‘The first animal I ever shot was a White Rhino with a .416 Remington!!’ the teen writes on her Facebook page.

‘This is a conservation effort to assure [sic] that they never do become extinct,’ the teen from Cleburne, Texas posted to Facebook.

A lot of people seem to worship creation rather than the creator.

Gators and boars. Boars are a real issue right now. Ranchers are paying handsomely for hunters to come in and kill them.

I have a friend who has taken two month long hunting safaris to Africa at approx. $35,000 per trip.......

He then gave slide show presentations of each trip to the local schools, explaining that the hunts are highly restrictive (licensing) and necessary to the local economies in terms of providing the meat to the local tribes.

As a side note, at the time of his second trip, his wife headed north to Alaska for a caribou hunt of her own.........

As another side note, my friend, his two brothers and one of his nephews were all eagle scouts......

Ref Bambi. I especially like the talking rabbits

Much as I love talking rabbits, Bambi and his mother (and the rest of the tribe) are the real pests in my neighborhood. I can't raise tomatoes because deer eat the plants. Plus they eat any expensive ornamentals that I have. I actually saw them at it one night, but they were gone before I could mount an appropriate response.

I have some friends who go on many of these licensed hunts. They pay to hunt, the animals are harvested and the meat is given to the local people, the hunters get a picture and sometimes the heads, but EVERYONE actually gains from these legal, licensed hunts.

These hunts are BENEFICIAL arrangements that the stupid tree-huggers don’t even understand! And apparently there are some Freepers who also don’t understand these basic tenants: pay to go on a hunt, kill an animal, harvest the food and byproducts for the locals, take a picture with the kill! More people survive and more of these animals survive, DUH!

LOL! Everyone gains except the recipient of the downrange slugs. Wonder what she was shooting. Other than the bow that appears in the pic with the lion. .500 Nitro? She’s gotta be tough to pop a few rounds with the power needed for a Hippo or Rhino. Not to mention you gotta be tough to make that friggin’ flight. Unless you’re in 1st or business. ;>}

If her school is a competitive cheerleading squad...this lady is in good physical shape, regardless of size. I doubt she has any difficulty handling weapons

Sounds like she was raised in a smart hunting family

Also, many of her detractors are probably infested with wealth envy...or think all rich gals supposed to be Kardashians

Actually the downrange recipient gains as well! In most of these cultures, there is nothing more sacred than an animal whose life is taken to feed humans. Most pray for the animal and those receiving the bountiful meal of that animal.

It is amazing, if a lion kills a gazelle and eats it, the tree-huggers could give a rat’s ass less. You think the lion prays over that gazelle? There is NOTHING more savage than life itself in the raw, literal dog-eat-dog world!

Think about the above for a second and then think about this: if a human hunter pays money (which helps the surrounding people), kills the gazelle (which helps feed the surrounding people), and then takes a picture with said kill, we are supposed to be upset? We are supposed to cry? Why? This is a controlled hunt, which means the locals will NOT ALLOW TOO MANY KILLS - that would kill their business, their food supply and their main attractions! DUH!

From the liberal point of view, what more could you want in life than to help those in your surroundings - you HELPED THE WHOLE VILLAGE!!!
