While many moderate Republican talking heads continue to push the narrative that the Tea Party is dead and buried, it simply isn't supported by events on the ground. The New York Times recently credited the conservative wing of the GOP for stopping Obama's planned amnesty for illegals.
Today, Roll Call reports that when it comes to Scott Brown in New Hampshire, "the GOP’s 2016 prospects are so far staying away from that Senate race for fear of upsetting prickly Republican activists by endorsing Brown, who was a more moderate Republican in the Senate and supports abortion rights."
If the Tea Party and conservative grass roots GOP base were as irrelevant as some would have you believe, Brown's moderate voting record on social, financial and even Second Amendment issues shouldn't matter. Clearly, it does.
“I think you’ll see the hot presidential contenders stay away until the primary is over. It’s just safer,” said Charlie Arlinghaus, a veteran New Hampshire Republican operative.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry will travel to New Hampshire Aug. 22 and 23, but he has no plans to appear to with Brown or any other Republican Senate candidate. Perry endorsed a candidate in the contested Iowa GOP Senate primary.
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., declared himself “a strong supporter of Scott Brown” in a radio interview in early May, but he also cautioned twice, “we haven’t done anything formal yet.” Rubio endorsed three other GOP Senate candidates before their respective primaries in Iowa, Arkansas and Colorado.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie traveled to New Hampshire two weeks ago. The RGA Chairman endorsed a Republican candidate for governor but did not comment on the Senate race. Christie has not gotten involved in any Senate races this cycle.

Brown is down double-digits to Shaheen, who’s popular in a liberal state. Trekking up to NH to appear with the guy who’s barely to the political right of the democrat incumbent is a waste of resources and time.
I don’t want to hear or see or read about some concocted manipulations of prior votes, sentiments or anything interpretational about what some hopeful GOP candidate will do or not do, nor how they can just be “trusted” because the GOP wants to win.....
The ONLY GOP candidate for whom I will vote has to swear on a stack of Bibles he will NOT, NOT EVER support, defend, overlook nor equivocate the sovereignty of this country with some ‘plan/reform/appeasement’ that legitimizes illegal criminals in this country in any way, shape, manner or form.
To me, this is an immutable position and I don’t give a damn if the GOP wins or not if it means we end up with 12-50 Million illegals who suddenly (or progressively) become citizens.

But A) he wouldn’t be representing quite so liberal a state this time around and B) he could be that last Senator to take back the majority. It’s not pretty, but he still merits support.

I live in MA. I know what a total scumbag Brown is. He’s wants back into power and that’s it.
Last year, when the republican party here was choosing their leader and Scott was on the fence about whether he would run in the special election against Markey, there was a Tea Party guy and Scott Brown’s crony in the running. He told the delegates that if they didn’t choose his crony, then he WOULDN’T run for senate. Well his crony won AND THE VERY NEXT DAY he announced that he WOULD NOT RUN for senate. His crony then supported and funded Gabriel Gomez, who was in third behind two far more conservative candidates (they got all excited because he was moderate and Hispanic). Gomez got the nomination and Markey defeated him handily.
Brown is a vicious traitor and DOES NOT merit support!
Well, being a NH resident I have Jim Rubens or Bob Smith to vote for in the primary. Unfortunately Karen Testerman dropped out of the race.
Right now I probably will vote for Rubens in Sept. but he has virtually no $$$ to carry forward after the primary.
With NH being hammered with health insurance increases and loss of 10 of the 20+ hospitals accepting obamacare policies you would think that Shitheen would be down in the 30’s polling perspective voters, but NH has been so overrun with commies it seems hopeless up here.
95% of pols are vicious traitors. I used to live in MA and know just how scummy Romney and his henchmen are as well.
Brown will probably lose, but if he were to win, that could well be the difference in turning the Senate for Obama’s last two years. And he could be primaried and tossed just as soon as a Democrat could be booted.
While I get the point, anyone who is “afraid” is not qualified to be POTUS. Grow a pair. All I see is grovelling among many of the so called front runners.

1. Actually DOING things that support constitutional conservative issues. We've been scorched too many times by "tea party" candidates who've abandoned us as soon as they're elected. Example: a governor who doesn't come up with a plan to stop the central americans from invading the US is a traitor (that's ALL of them!)
2. Having burned ALL bridges to the elite backstabbing GOP power freaks. Example: anyone who contributed to or supports Cochran's treachery is off the "good list" Now we can only trust those who speak out against Cochran. As of now, all of those constitutional conservatives are holding their breath.
Let me tell you about a conversation I had with some blacks in the late 1960s. Many supported Wallace for president!. Why....they'd rather know where their enemy was at. We're in the same spot now I'd rather have a US Senate controlled by dems than our even worse enemy, sabotaging us from within, the Republican power-trippers who are a majority of 'pubs in the US Senate.
Example Soott Brown in NH? Forget it! Sheehan might do us more good understanding what's best for NH.
Frankly, most Senators and Congressmen of the GOP aren’t worth a cup of spit in my opinion. I don’t care about what ever records they can have concocted and foist off on some gullible Americans as truth.
To my mind, we have to figuratively burn that party to the ground and start over.
Red Hampshire should lose its status as a ‘first in the nation’ primary state. Their system is as corrupt as that of Mississippi. Liberals should NOT be setting the table for subsequent primaries. If anything, Red Hampshire should be among the last primaries.
Rather, fear our indifference. Because they will be getting a huge helping of it.
