Texas may sue government over illegal immigrant children

Texas attorney general Greg Abbott may sue the federal government over the influx of unaccompanied children crossing the U.S. – Mexico border. The possible lawsuit comes after the latest immigration crisis in the border state.

Abbott is considering legal action against the Obama administration after a request for $30 million in border patrol and enforcement went unanswered by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

“If the federal government is unwilling to secure the border, the State of Texas will be forced to resort to litigation to recoup the costs incurred to respond to this crisis,” wrote Abbott in an e-mail.

“The State of Texas is exploring any and all options, including litigation, to address the crisis our federal government has created by not living up to their Constitutional responsibility,” added Jerry Strickland, the spokesman for the attorney general. “If the federal government is unwilling to secure the border, the State of Texas will be forced to resort to litigation to recoup the costs incurred to respond to this crisis.”

Rick Perry is deceiving himself if he thinks he has a shot at the Presidency, unless he does something bold, from the heart, for America.

What would a law suit accomplish? He’d simply over rule it via EO.

You are right there and Texas should put their effort on impeachment of King Obama. Impeachment would happen in the House and King Obama would be exposed to the world. It would destroy the communists democrats.

Congress cannot bailout OdumBO on this, it would, just, encourage him to do it again. A court needs to tell the executive he must pay the state(s).

And where in the hell do you think the money will come from. Solved nothing but impeachment might slow it down.

In general, I believe we're finished with people who choose to run on "issues". Instead, we're looking for candidates who have actually tried to do something about those "issues".

CWII Spark — States refusing to do their duty and/or the federal government preventing them, both could kick things off.

What happened to the stories about Gov Perry calling out the National Guard and Texas Militias and posting them on the border to stop the kiddie invasion?

Perry will only talk, talk, talk... Perry is pro-illegal alien. Remember in the debate he said we have no heart

Perry is desperate to "act tough" knowing the mood of the public.

Perry will do nothing because he is a weak, contemptible man who only can act tough with words.

We are literally losing our Republic right before our eyes and yet there are no leaders who can think outside the box and take bold decisive action. Disgusting.

Perry is a weak, contemptible man. Perry is hoping and praying most Texans don't read Art. 4 Sec. 7.

Perry is one of the very few who are in a position to truly act to stop this destructive invasion -- yet he essentially does nothing.

Perry deserves the utter scorn and contempt of every United States loving Patriot.

When the epitaph of the U.S. is written, let it be known that Perry did nothing to stop the destruction of our Republic.

The "plan" to file a lawsuit (I mean, how bad does it have to get?) should be done in addition to and along with your other excellent suggestions. There's no reason to wait while the situation continues to deteriorate ...

Could you imagine the response if Perry called upon all Patriots to show up at the border armed and ready to repel this destructive invasion? I believe enough people would show up to seal the border. (support logistics to shortly follow)

Americans are a very resourceful people. Without any Federal government help, in short order, the people could seal the Southern border.

We are truly witnessing the willful destruction of way of life and our Republic as founded.

These third world scum have the sole intention of turning the U.S. into a spanish speaking third world sewer.

Why do they make this all about money? IE if they win the lawsuit and get some federal dollars to deal with the invasion.....so what?

Perry should call for a volunteer force of patriotic Texans. Put them under the Texas Rangers, deputize them and start a continuous patrol of the border.

Take a small section of state parks and set up holding areas.

Surround any federal facility that is housing these “kids”. Make it a state felony to release them, and arrest anybody who tries or transports them.

Call for volunteers with any military,LE experience. Ask for donations from all 50 states.

I don't care if it comes out of OdumBO's pocket, but, it will make it easier to impeach with another charge to be added to the list.

zerO and Mooch think they will make more than the Clintons out of office. Let him continue to pay for states illegal immigration expense he caused.
